I'm having so much trouble generalizing these skills when it comes to my neighbor. I have to see her every day beacause our daughters are friends, are in the same class at school, play soccer together, etc. She is so subversive and I've watched her ruin other people's reputations if they get on her bad side. She gets mad about things and tells other people so that they are on her side. It's weird because no one sees through her but me. We had an incident recently and I'm so angry with her because confronting her only makes things worse. I let things like this eat away at me because I have to deal with it constantly.

If others can be so swayed by someones else's opinions then you don't need them. I figure my reputation stands on it own. If someone wants to talk about me then go for it. I cannot control what others think or do and I'm not going to walk on eggshells around them. I will be myself regardless. I bet there are those who do see thru her and those that dont just have a few lessons to learn (the hard way). Just be yourself. If she doesnt like it too bad. Who made her queen of all people? She really isnt that important. Live like she doesnt exist. Have fun and enjoy! THat alone will probably make her mad...lol. Reena

Thanks. What you say is very true. When I went through a divorce i decided that the best revenge was to go for it and live my life well. I guess the same applies here.

Kacey,
From what you wrote she sounds self-assuming, haughty, unthankful, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderer, without self-control, betrayer, heasdstrong, puffed up with pride. Does she claim to be have godly devotion? (Be a Christian?) Well, if she slanders the neighbors, she's proving false as a Christian, and from her sort I would turn away. -- 2 Timothy 3:1-5

If my children were young I wouldn't want my children in her home and would be cautious about my children's association with hers. Especially if they picked up any of her traits.

However, even the worst neighbors can change when we show kindness.
