How does one get over the anger over a past relationship that didn't work out? I know that my anger is because of my fear of being alone. I am a single mother of 2, been divorced for 5 years and have been in 3 failed relationships since then. I now live in a very small town and have to continually see my ex. He dumped me after promises of marriage and "I was the one". I feel rejected, replaced (he has started to date again, I haven't) and basically not worth anyone's time. I am following the program religiously, but still feel the anger and hurt whenever I see him. How do I let go??? I just want to be happy and have my life back so that I can move on. I want to have a loving relationship with someone, but I feel like my problem with anxiety and depression only push these men away. Am I doomed to be alone???

jjt,

All I can say is that you just have to say it's okay that things didn't work out and you are better for it, if that makes any sense. Maybe a relationship right now isn't the right thing for you. This time should be for working on yourself, be a little selfish or alot selfish. I've had many a bad relationship and my hearts been torn into peices everytime, but you do get over it. I look at it like, "It's there loss, not mine". You know what else, atleast four ex-boyfriends tried to get me back after months and sometimes years, and you know what they said? "I was the person the should have married!" I was like, what's your name again!! I truly believe that when the person comes along that you are meant to be with, you will know. It wont be a struggle to keep the relationship working and together, not that relationships don't take effort, they do. Give yourself a break, let go of the past hurts, tell yourself it's okay things didn't work out and move on. You are the only one keeping yourself where you are right now!
