I read some of your post on paxilcr which was just prescribed for me. Please help me out here because I do not know if I should take it. What were your symptoms before and how do you feel now and what were the side effects. I do not want to get worse, I havea nine year old and what to be ok for xmas Any help here would be truly appreciated.

Hi JT2, well I started out when I was about 12 or 13 with my anxiety, i was always afraid of everything, and very paranoid, I never really got along with anyone, I always felt like there was a motor inside me moving about 100 miles an hour, and there was no way to stop it, when i turned 16 or so , i started to drink and do drugs to help with some of the pain, but of course that didnt work , so I stopped cold turkey EVERYTHING! and started eating good , working out and taking care of my health, the anxiety and depression remained ....bad, so in july i got the program and got up to lesson 11, i was following it religiously, and still was having major panic anxiety attacks, and major depression, so i went to the doctor, he put me on paxil cr 12.5 mgs and i started to feel it working only a couple days after starting it, after a month the feelings started to come back, so he upped it to 25 mgs where I am now, I feel great! I am still in the adjustment period, so I am taking it one day at a time, no more anxiety and panic attacks have stopped, I am also still following program, the only side effects i have had are dry mouth with the paxil cr, hey take it easy good luck!

Thanks so much Eric. Your post sounds so positive and I am so happy to hear you are doing well, thats such a great thing to hear. I hope if i start it it works like it did for you because I have been trying some natural things that worked a little but I feel I am stepping backwards again.

eric, I have another question? What were your symptoms that paxil helped you with? Sorry to be so nosy but it sounds like it has helped you and I was just curious because mine are nervous feeling, concentration, not doing all those things I use to socially because I feel nervous.

Hi JT2 , I hope i was of some help to you, well my symptoms were many, i am very obsessive compulsive, I used to bite my nails, something i stopped while on paxil, I always worried about EVERYTHING, from the moment i woke up till the moment i went to sleep. i could not concentrate, everything was one big jumble, i had panbic attacks when there was news i did not want to hear, just many awful things, also i was very depressed, you know you dont really know how bad you were till you get help . and i was bad!, i also had racing thoughts constantly, so the paxil has helped me alot, now im calm most of the time, and i can think alot more clearly and enjoy life. hey take care any questions write back thanks
