I wondered if anyone has these symptoms with their anxiety? I have a feeling of heaviness and overwhelming apprehension that may have no cause and could last as much as 2 days. I sometimes get tremors inside that wouldn't show on the outside. I often get low blood pressure and then feel weak or dizzy. I also get bad headaches and feel like throwing up. If I get to the point of an actual panic attack I shake uncontrollably and feel very cold and feel some better if I can be wrapped tightly in a blanket. Does this happen to anyone else? I also have been told during a sleep study that my central nervous system doesn't always trigger me to breathe in the night (my husband had noticed this)is this an anxiety symptom? Doctors aren't concerned by it because it isn't sleep apnea and I don't snore or have my throat constrict. Just wondering if someone can identify.

Symptoms I get:
*Feel like I can’t breathe (my chest feels heavy) *My heart feels like its beating really fast *I have thick feeling in my throat *I have pains in my chest *I have bad head aches *I’m irritable *I feel like I have pain everywhere on my body *I always think I have some sort of disease or mental disorder *I feel real shaky or on edge *Tired *Hot flashes, then I will get cold *Light headed *weak *tingly feeling in fingers *Pain in shoulders These are all the symptoms I deal with everyday! I try to drink tea so it can calm me down but sometimes it just doesn’t work. But your definitely not alone on this...I feel the same way you do. Sometimes these symptoms will last for hours or even for days...Hang in there!! Be strong!! And try to calm or self down by thinking happy thought, reading a good book, drinking tea with no caffeine. Sometimes by writing how your feeling will make you feel better as well! |

Thank you Colorado!
I've felt all those things at various times and I'm so glad that it's less often now. Thank you for your encouragement. Doing things that I know make me happy really helps and I'm learning to live in the precious present moment. Best wishes to you and I hope we can encourage each other! tessie 1 |

The symptoms are such a horrible part of this anxiety and I have had all of them for years but most have stopped now. I occasionally will get the tightness in my neck and shoulders and a heavy icky feeling in my gut but that's about it.
just wanted to reasure you that your body symptoms will slowly stop as you can stop the negative thoughts and lies we fill our minds with everyday. Just try so hard to say soothing words to yourselves and don't fight the anxiety but practise telling yourself you are ok and it's only anxiety and it will pass. Soon this will become the so natural for you. The bad times become less frequent and the good times take over. Wishing all the best to you on your journey. BELIEVE YOU CAN CONQUER ANYTHING~ AND YOU WILL !! I DID IT, YES !!!!! |

I also get all of these symptoms you mentioned, the worse for me is low blood pressure and feeling weak and faint, and I can't walk very far because of it. I also feel very off balaced, anyone else experience these symptoms??
I've been all through all the heart tests a few years ago so I don't think it's that, just anxiety. |

I did feel that maybe my blood sugar was low a few times because of the way I felt shaky and weak and a little lightheaded. I have never had a problem with blood sugar but it made me wonder. Can anxiety cause this? "Lord, make me sensitive to the needs, the cares, the concerns, the hurts, and the spiritual condition of those that I come in contact with today!" |

I have quite a few weird symptoms.
I fear walking alone. I always feel that people are commenting on how weird I walk. Personally when I am walking alone, I feel very uncomfortable. This always lead to anxiety. I fear eating in front of others. My neck will get tense up and I will get those "twitches" which are completely involuntary. I really don;t know how to explain this, but this particular symptom has been affecting my social life greatly. And in some situations, I always have difficulty trying to keep my breathing pace steady. It's very irritating to me. Other then that, I have the usual symptoms of anxiety. Like, - heart palpitations - constant fatigue - a feeling that there a lump in my throat - pain in shoulder and neck - chest pain - thoughts of having some illnesses - worry too much etc. I still don't have the courage to seek medical help. I don't know why, but I fear at the thought of going to a doctor and telling all these. HELP. |

Snailey,
Find a friend to go with you to the doctor. First, you may find that none of these symptoms are due to physical illness. Anxiety can appear in many different forms. And the doctor isn't going to do anything to you that you don't allow. Try looking on the internet for information. You don't have to take medication, but you can if it helps you function. Just so you know it's not just you: I used to cry if I got asked out to dinner because I was so afraid of making a fool of myself or wasting my date's money by not being able to eat. It sounds like you are very self-conscious. It may be that you feel the twitching but nobody else can see it. Use the relaxation exercises in the program and see if that helps. You don't have to remember how to do it; the instructions are right there. There are so many of us anxious people that you never have to feel alone. Read the forums regularly and see. I give you credit for getting the program and finding the courage to face your fears. It will get easier to change as you practice your new skills. I can't imagine how you walk that makes you fear walking alone. I have a friend who had a stroke and he walks wide legged to keep his balance, and he's grateful to be able to walk. Try taking your fear to a ridiculous end...will people point you out and run you out of town? Probably not. (Are you familiar with Monty Python's Flying Circus and John Cleese's Ministry of Silly Walks? He is about 6'4" and makes walking look hysterical.) It sounds like you're just plain down on yourself for everything. Give yourself a break and allow yourself the room to be human and make mistakes. Welcome to Classroom Earth! Les |

I hope no one minds me saying this, but I just ordered the program and haven't received it yet... but reading all these posts already is making me feel better because they all sound so much like ME! Just feels better knowing I'm not the only one...
Thanks for all of your sharing. |

Has anyone experienced what feels like tremors or tingling in your head when your trying to sleep? My anxiety has manifested in many different ways but most recently in involuntary tremors in fee, legs, arms, back and head. Anyone else experience this? Its very disturbing and makes me want to run to the doctor for the 50 millionth time but I am resisting the urge to see if it is actually just my anxiety getting the best of me.
