Migraine sufferers......Not meaning to scare you but to inform.....I used to get migraines 2 times a month or so & just popped 4 'Aleves' to make it go away. I attributed them to a "monthly hormonal" problem.
June 2004, I was admitted to the hospital after having numbness on one side of my body & slurring speech @ the age of 39!I was diagnosed (as you guessed) as having had several "mini-strokes". When I told my doctor about my past with migraines, he stated they were probably due to UNDIAGNOSED, HIGH Blood Pressure & the "mini-strokes" . Since I've been on Blood Pressure medications, I've had NOmore "migraine" headaches. So PLEASE DON'T TAKE for granted that your Migraine is just a Migraine! I can be a MUCH MORE SERIOUS HEALTH issue!!

Very informative. Thank you. Did the four Aleve help with your migraines?

OMG! I just turned 43 and have had suffered from migraines pretty often since I was 22. What kind on specialist did you go to to find out they were actually strokes. I've often said to family and friends, "Gosh, I feel like I'm having a stroke." Any suggestions? Thanks. Angel B.

I too have had migraines since early twenties and still have them at 42. No problems with blood pressure though. No numbness. I think it was just a fluke. Hope you are feeling better!

I also want to state that there is such a thing as migraines with "stroke like" symptoms...doesn't mean you are having a stroke. My migraines start with visual disturbances followed by my hand/arm/face getting numb, followed by the migraine itself. I was taken to the hospital when the first one had it...had a CT scan and an MRI and it was just a migraine. I have no bp issues. Anyone who has a differen't migraine of any sort should see their dr. for further evaluation, but wanted to say that there is such a thing as migraines with these symptoms. I'm so glad you are feelin better.
