A dear friend sent this to me via e-mail, I just wanted to pass it on.
SHADOWS With interest, I watched the shadows move across my living room floor, as the early morning sun flooded through my front window. The Morning News had just given the time of the sunrise and when it would set in the evening. I realized how we plan our day according to the time of the sun’s light. BUT the sun doesn’t rise or set. It doesn’t move…we do! The earth rotates, and moves around the sun – not the sun around the earth. We all know that. Even though we know better, we still refer to it as coming up and going down. Back to the subject of shadows. As long as there is light, there will be shadows. Sometimes we refer to the “hard times” in our lives as a period of darkness or shadow, times when there seems to be little light on our pathway. But we must never forget… shadows always move. In the days before our present method of keeping time, sundials were used to tell the time of day, according to the moving of the shadow. Sometimes we may think of God in the same fashion as we refer to sunrise and sunset. Because some good thing comes our way, or we’ve had some encouraging answer to prayer, we are inclined to say, “God is Good” Or, when some tragedy happens, to say, “Where was God?” Inferring that sometimes we may think He is not good, even though we know better. Like the sun…He doesn’t move or change! We are the ones who respond differently. James 1:17 helps us in our thinking regarding the good-ness of God. “Every good and perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation, neither shadow of turning “ What joy it brings to our hearts to know that God is the same, yesterday, today and forever, with no shadow of moving. Hold fast, help is on the Way, Thank the Lord! |

I really enjoyed that encouragement, it touched my heart. I needed that encouragement today to just have someone remind you how good god is. May god bless you many many more.

Ivy, How neat that in your own time of trial you would write this. It's 3:12 am and I can't sleep because of this poison ivy. I've taken 2 tylenol pm to knock me out which it normally does. I'm sure I won't be going to church in the morning because usually l of the PM's knocks me out. Well, God knows best. I've been reading the book of Job. In the Message he says why should we take the good days without the bad. What you wrote is the first thing I'm reading coming on the forums. Thank you. You are a great encouragement to the body of Christ. Are you doing OK with tapering off the Paxil?
