Does Anxiety effect anyone with GERD?
I dont know what to do for mine. I take nexium for GERD and a small dose of Xanax for anxiety.
But it seems that the nexium is failing. I have been under alot of finacial stress. But the gas has been unreal!
I just wondered if anyone had any home remedies that have worked for them that they would like to share.
thanks

Hi,
I have the same issue for the last 2.5 years with reflux and anxiety. I take an anxiety medication and take prevacid daily and that doesn't even help fully either. I think the anxiety med makes my stomach worse but I feel better emotionally.
I can't win. This has been a huge struggle for me and I have tried so many different things. I am hoping someone has some more home remedies as well.
Thanks,
Amy

green herbal tea should help.

With gerd, you must avoid fried foods, spicy foods, and oily foods.
Avoid caffiene, and coffee, even decaf coffee (the natural oils upset stomach)

I was told not to lie down until 3 hours after eating, not to wear anything that squeezes my waist (tight clothes, and belts).

I know its a pain to watch everything we eat. My heartburn and gasiness is back bcuz i have been eating whatever I want. Eeker
