Hi Mark I have a disease called Behcet's it is very rare and is difficult to manage due to the rare nature. As of recent I had some medication mismanagement and ended up with severe anxiety. The thing is that it does not matter if the pain is real. Your reality of the pain is!! So one of my suggestions is to keep the pain under control in whatever way your doctor recommends because pain adds to anxiety. Also after long periods of pain Over years your nervous system can get on overload and misfire and magnify the pain and make it feel greater even if it is at the same level. A good pain management clinic can explain better than I can.I have been in chronic pain for 20 years and I am a Marriage and Family Therapist. Life can get the best of us sometimes but you have to listen to your gut instinct and follow what you know in your heart to be true. Know that you can climb your way out of the dark hole it takes time and patience find good docs and then believe it can all be ok!

hi mark I'm in session 10 and i just found out yesterday that i have lyme's disease. I've had this rash for 2 months and about 2 and 1/2 months ago I found a tick on my foot. I haven't had insurance and i've been having extreme anxiety about this mysterious rash and symptoms. I just went to the doctor the other day and that's when i found out. I was ok at first because he told me that it's totally treatable and then i went on the lyme disease association which i knew i shouldn't have and now i think that i'm going to get really sick and die. i don't really know much about it and i'm afraid to read anymore because my anxiety is crazy. I just need some comfort to know that i'm gonna be ok. if there's anything you can tell me to help me it would be great. thanks and I'll pray for you.

i saw this doctor on 60mintues or one of those news programs once. Google Dr. John Sarno. He has books on amazon.com he's a back doc that does alot of work with the body mind connection. it might be an aveune you want to explore. good luck. and take care. I have stomach problems and panic attacks i know how hard it can be to deal with things.
