I have a patent foramen ovale--long name for a small whole in my heart. I guess we all have it in utero and one in four do not close at birth. No symptoms, take a baby aspirin a day to avoid blood clots, and that's it. Teddi Brewski had a stroke from it, so sometimes if I dwell on it I panic, but overall, we have to just be as proactive as we can and keep on living Does your cause symptoms?

Oh yes, I can relate. Before the program and learning these amazing coping skills, my health would have me worrying 24/7. I was born with multiple heart defects, have had open heart surgery as a child and as an adult, still have residual murmurs, developed an additional valve defect, and now have congestive heart failure. Good news- I'm OK with my situation now, have wonderful doctors who help take good care of me and now I take better care of me with a more positive outlook. Whew, what a relief to be living again!!!! I used to obsess about every little thing that COULD go wrong and now I deal with it in a more realistic manner and thank God for all the blessings I have in life. It's all in our attitude, our faith in ourselves and for me, in God also, and our thinking patterns. If we choose to look for all the possible negatives, that's what we'll see, and think and feel. Seek out the positives and that obsessive worrying gets less and less every day. huge hugs to you. you're not alone in this! hope this helps some.

Hey! I have Mitral Valve Prolapse- I was born with it-my condition is not life threating but it does act up once and a while especially if I consume sugar too much salt-I get very bad palpatations-I have had a number of EEG/EKG's but everything turned out ok. I do have to take a bunch of antibiotics before dental work-and I get my wisdom teeth out August 13th and I am very worried about that because of my MVP and the bleeding.

when i was born the doctor noticed a "click" when my heart would beat-to this day I still have a "click" that is the mitral valve not closing completly-plus the EKG showed it-if your EKG didn't show the valve not closing all the way then there is a chance that you don't have MVP-most people do have a murmer but it isn't necessarily MVP. Hope this helps
