I Have been suffering with endless back pain for 11 years. I have been in and out of doctor offices off and on pretty constantly for the last 3 years. The last time (like 5 years ago) they sent me home with a perscription for 5 pain pills. I felt like nobody believed me. So I gave up. Well I have been pretty persistant this year. My Physical therapist reccomended getting a MRI I was not improving with therapy. There they found I have 2 discs almost gone. So I went to a back surgeon. He is sending me to outside doctors to rule out Everything and anything under the sun before he gives me spinal fusion. Well one of the docs he sent me back to is my gyn. Now she never told me I have endometriosis. But she knew and forgot to tell me I suppose. Well she thinks it might be causing my back pain... I dont even know what endo is or what to expect. All I know is I cant bend. I feel like I am Breaking all the time. I took soooo much ibprophen I gave myself ulcers. I cant take much anymore. So she got my insurance to approve the Lupron depot. I got it on Monday. and I am FREAKING out. Thinking I did the wrong thing. I started cramping from the top of my legs to the bottom of my rib cage All in my back. What is endometriosis and is it cured by anything? Does surgery help? Will I suffer for the rest of my life? I feel like I am going to be in a wheelchair soon. And I dont know where to begin. I am crazy overwhelmed. I dont know what to expect and I feel like my life is going in the toilet

Anybody else out there experince Endo or have the lupron. I have heard nothing but bad side effects from that? I have a test for the Interstitial Cystitis on Wednesday.I will know for sure if I have this too. All these can cause chronic back pain.
Please let me know.
Monica

Mo,
Yes doctors do use Lupron Depot for endometriosis. Its a type of hormone, that is supposed to shrink the endo and help with pain.
Yes endo can cause Pain in the lower back, also pelvic area, constipation.
I guess the best thing to do is call the doctor Monday who gave you this, and let them know of your symptoms and side effects your having. The can adjust the dosage. But, I truly think you need to keep your doctor informed... LOVE You, NellySmiler

I agree with Mello, but I would also report to the back surgeon what is being diagnosed. I'm sure you are doing that and he/she will receive reports...remember-there could be more than one contributer to your back pain...but if you have 2 discs that are Gone-how can that not be excruciatingly painful???

I am so glad that you are not going to rest until you have a Full report on Everything. That is courage! and it makes Sense! It's time for some peace and to be rid of as much pain as possible. Constant pain could explain a lot of your anxiety-I hope you've allowed for that. Keep us posted, Carolyn
