My calves and ankles have been swelling up for about 2 years now. When I sit for longer than an hour or when I drink beer is when I notice it. I measure them every day and they usually get 1-2 inches larger by the end of the day. I also gained 35 pounds in 6 months. I've went to the doctor and she ran tests. It's still happening so I went to her again and I am having several more detailed tests done on Monday. I'm very scared. She thinks it may be edema which is caused by liver, kidney or heart failure. I am 34 year old female who has been healthy besides my panic disorder. As you all may know, all I'm thinking is the bad things. Anyone have this before?

Dalton,
I don't have the ankle issue you are worried about but can sympathize with the way your feeling. The panic is going to of course intensify those feeling of worry but just know that's all it is, worry. Nothing bad is going to happen. I hope everything works out for you in a positive way. |

Thank you all for the time to read my post. I have been doing everything the doctor told me. Thank you for your thoughts.

Dear Lord, I ask at this time that you comfort and care for Dalton. Please help her through this uncertain time and I pray for her sake that her issue is a minor one. Please give her the strength and courage she needs at this time and protect her always. In Jesus's name, Amen.
I hope you don't take offense, I like to pray for everyone. I Am Worth It! (formally Staying Positive) |

Edema can be caused by medications. Please look up any meds you might be on for side effects. Dr's don't always know all the possible side effects of meds. Or talk to a pharmacist.

Why? Why? Why?
"As long as one keeps searching, the answers come"... -- Joan Baez Asking ourselves 'why?' helps us delve deeply into our main motives -- why we do what we do. This process helps us go deeper into our reasoning, habits and unconscious beliefs. Once we become aware of our underlying motives, we can choose to change them, if we wish... Regularly ask yourself, 'Why am I...?' Listen closely for the answer that surfaces in your mind, and write it down. Now look at your answer and ask why again. Continue with this process to reach the true source of your motivation... I had my tests this morning and my doctor will have them by tomorrow. For some reason, I fell normal today. I feel I will be fine.

Dalton I am glad you are feeling confident and well. I pray your test goes equally as well for you.
