Hey Cosmogirl,
I just read your other post and it seems the anxiety is giving you a hard time this evening. You know the hypochondriac syndrome we get when we don't feel well? Do not go to any of the medical sites. You need to do something to relax yourself like tea or the relaxation tape but something to get your mind of body symptoms you are having.
I have allergy issues too and they used to cause me anxiety esp. the spinning part. When I would turn my head fast or lift my head up quick the room would spin. Drove me bonkers!!! I got a weird face thing this year well it was tingling in my gums. I have moved further South and my sinuses have gotten worse and I am experienceing things I never have before and that gum tingling is one of them. When that first happened I thought it was a stroke. I also had this funny feeling in my ear and my hearing was off not the usual stereo to mono ear ringing bit but like I was under water and that wound up being fluid in my ear. I take singulair but it does not seem to work well some days and I know all I need is a decongestant but I cannot take it due to irregular heart rhythms I have. I just tell myself when those symptoms drive me crazy and my mind thinks of going to anxiety-ville that it is just my allergies and it helps to hear others have allergy issues too. When I see neighbors at the bus stop when we get our kids I will ask or someone will complain about their allergies acting up and I feel better because I am not the only one. Just take your medicine as prescribed for the allergies and give yourself reassurance that it is your allergies and not a stroke or something else. Have you tried Nasonex or something like that? I find that it helps me with the head spinning by drying up my sinuses a little. I also use a neti pot to help dry my sinuses too. Feel better.

Cosmo,
You may need to have a temporary or permanent tube put in to drain your inner ear of fluid - or maybe something else. I have suffered from severe allergies and congestion problems for years, which ultimately led to a non-cancerous growth inside my eardrum.
I had to have a very long operation to take care of it (remove the growth off the eardrum and tiny bones in my ear and rebuild my eardrum). But I still suffer from a dysfunctional eustachian tube, which causes pressure to build up in my middle ear cavity, and sometimes pain in my ear, and hearing issues and other problems, like vertigo sometimes. I don't know if your problem is THIS severe, but you might want to visit a good ear, nose, and throat specialist if you have not already, and have your problem properly diagnosed. I take Claritin D 12 hour nearly every day to help stave off the symptoms, and that helps immensely with the congestion, pressure and pain. But I only need get one little head cold to totally knock the balance out of whack. Dizziness is not always just caused by anxiety, I can vouch for that. So get your condition checked out so you can feel more at ease about what is going on with your body. Take care. Be healthy.

Hi Cosmogirl,

I have been through the same thing. For years I went to my ENT doctor I had every CAT scan done. The were giving me allergy shots once a week. But I still felt like crap. The CAT scan showed that I have a diveated septum. He wanted me to have the surgey to fix it. I elected not to have it done, because I asked him if it was going to stop the headache's he said it should help, but he could not guarantee that the headaches would go away, but he said I would breath better. I never had any problems breathing.
To make a long story short, he finaly determind after 5 years of seeing him that I have TMJ and I had tension headaches, That's what was causing me to feel dizzy. The blood flow was being constricted to my head from the tension in my neck & shoulders. He suggested that I need to learn to relax. LOLOL. I thought that was funny.

I hope this helps you. Feel better soon.

Debbie

Hi Everyone,

I have a great solution for all of your nasal and allergy problems. This stuff is wonderful I have been using this product for about three years I use it once in the morning and once at night before I go to bed. I used to have bad sinus problems and post nasal drip my sinuses would feel to tight that I could hardly breathe through my nose, I would have upper respiratory infections every month, bad sore throats and ear infections. Every month I would be running to the doctor with the same symptoms and I was really getting tired of getting head colds a couple times a year.

The product is called Xlear Nasal Wash its the "clear" solution for nasal cleaning. A Texas researcher named Dr. Lon Jones found that xylitol, a natural plant-based simple sugar, often used in "sugar free" chewing gum, is useful for cleaning nasal passages. He mixed it with saline to produce an effective, all natural wash, which he calls Xlear.

By delivering the xylitol directly to the nasal passages, Xlear helps flush out irritants and keep nasal tissues clean and moist. It's good for the whole family, even the kids.

I would not live without this product I no longer have any of my discomforts with bad sinuses, colds, ear infections, throat infections, etc.

You can purchase this product at all health food stores in your area, they sometimes have information about Xlear. Get it and see the difference!!!

I have a lot of allergies and asthma as well. I haven't had this lately, but there were times when my allergies/asthma were really out of control that I would get pressure or even pain in my throat and it felt like my throat would close up. After quite a few tests, I was finally told I was having esophageal spasms. They were related to acid reflux. They seemed more painful and frightening at nighttime. If you know you have acid reflux, make sure you are doing all the right things like not eating 3 hours before lying down, use a bed wedge pillow or raise the head of the bed, don't eat trigger foods, etc.

Hi Cosmogirl.

I really do think you will be very pleased with the results that you get from using Xlear nasal wash. It is a great product for people who suffer with allergy symtpoms, sinus problems, etc. The reason it works so well is because everything you breathe is inhaled through your nose and when you do that the bacteria and germs stay inside your nose. That is why you get all your problems and symptoms. But when you use the Xlear nasal wash you just spray each nostril and breathe it in and then you blow your nose. THAT'S IT!!!

What you are doing is blowing out all the bacteria and germs that make you ill. I am telling you this product is fantastic. I use it every morning and night before I go to bed. I never get head colds anymore and I never get sick either.

You are going to love how Xlear works, you will never want to live without it. Life is just toooo good.

To your success,

Dona Dry

Hi Dona,

I am going to try Xlear. I had recently read that saline rinsing/nose spraying in Eastern cultures is very popular and works wonders. The thought of rinsing my nose daily sort of grossed me out, but when I think of the other things I have to deal with, it really isn't all that gross in comparison. Sounds like this Xlear product is similar to what I was reading about.

My ENT, who is Asian, also recommends the old gargling with salt and warm water whenever I have a cold coming on. Everytime I try that, wham, the cold never comes on, or it eases it up quite a bit, or it only comes on a little. So there is definitely a lot of proof here that rinsing those mucous passages with saline solutions is quite helpful.

Thank you for your post.

Hi there Tracy,

I am very glad that you want to try Xlear. I have been using it for years and I will tell you it is a great product. By flushing out your nasal passages and getting out those bad germs that cause you to get ill, to have a cold, to have allergy problems, etc. It just won't happen anymore, you will feel sooo great. You will say to yourself how did I ever live without this product. And I have been suffering all these years and going to the doctor and getting medications to get well. JUST USE XLEAR AND FORGET IT!!!

You will find the product in most health food stores, a regular grocery store will not carry it. After you use it for awhile let me know how you liked it!!

Thanks for the info, Dona. I'll have to try Xlear.

I have had sinus problems since high school and allergy problems since my late 20's. I have had four sinus surgeries to remove polyps and infection.

I take Allegra every day, but this sounds like a great idea as well.

Wow! I just got over a bad sinus infection. I seem to get post nasal drip and allergy problems a lot. This was a great subject to bring up, there are so many who suffer with this. I sometimes get dizzy or weak and wobbly, the Ent did not find anything though (couple yrs back). I've gotten a little better with being weak and wobbly since then, but it can still come on once in a while. There are many things that could affect this problem, but I like the input here...thanx....David

To Unicorn and Chief Crazy Horse,

I was reading your posts about how the both of you are suffering from bad sinus infections. Go to your nearest Health Food Store and asked for Xlear nasal wash you can also find out if they have a phamplet on the product. I am telling you this stuff is wonderful. I have been using this product for a couple of years that I cannot say enough good things about it.

I used to have sinus problems for years and post nasal drip and I also would get bad upper respiratory infections several times a year. Now that I use Xlear all of my problems are gone. You feel so great. Let me know what you think of the product and how it has helped you.
