Yep, I am 37 and have been in menopause since November of 07. I had everything surgically removed. I had my uterus out first and five months later ended up having my ovaries out. I was on a hormone patch for about 6 months. A month before the surgery and 5 months afterwards. I was doing extremely well, I had a lot of depression leading up to the hysterectomy. Afterwards I was out of pain and dong well. Then in April of 08 I started a having really down days so they changed my estrogen to Premarin because my level was to low. I went off work in April because I became depessed, but the end of June I was really depressed and ( I was already taking antidepressants for a couple of years). By July I ended up in the hospital due to strong suicidal thoughts. I was in the hospital 4 times from July to October. The last time in the doctors took me off a lot of meds and started me on an maoi antidepressant. I was still and shortly after that I ordered the anxiety and depression program and here I am. I'm on week six now. It's helped a lot. The doctors felt that the hormones played a huge part in the depression, but again, I had some depression before the surgery. It got to the point where I felt no one could help me anymore and than I ordered Lucinda's program and I am doing better. I exercise everyday for an hour and that has helped me a lot. However, you have to be at that point. When I was so depressed I couldn't exercise, I couldn't do much at all. Hope this helps. I am doing better now. It's a combination of meds, exercise and the program.

Hi to both of you. I am in perimenopause, and I feel that it has made a big change in my mood swings, lack of sleeping, fogginess, and I also get night sweats sometimes at night. No hotflashes yet. I've asked several doctors about bio-identical hormones, but they all said no, they don't deal with that. I heard about the Oprah program on menopause etc. My sister told me about it. It would be nice to have a group of us ladies that not only have anxiety, panic attacks, depression OCD, or bipolar. But are also either in perimenopause, or in menopause. Maybe we could just have out own thread, and talk about issues that are specific to this time in our lives, andd be a support for each other. Any one out there who shares this with us, let me know what you think. Hugs, Hally

I'm glad to see that you and the other Ladies feel the same(about our own forum). There have been sooo maney topics on this since I have been here. I told a women the other day on here about one GREAT topic. It's called "Ladies Help". I don't know if you've seen it or not. If you go under "Find"(at the top of this page) write in the topic and it should take you write to it. I tried to bump it back to the top the other day hoping it would stay current. Hope that helps let's stick together on this one. I think it would helped so maney who are suffering. Take-care

Hi...I've recently learned that I am peri-menopausal. I was doing really well with managing anxiety. Went through the program about 5 years ago and it helped immensely. Anyway I'm having hormonal issues and I've started back with panic attacks but they are different then before. Now its like my heart is beating fast all of the time and then I get scared and go into a panic. Went to dr couple of days ago, had ekg said looks like I'm just anxious and hormonal. I'm having a very hard time trying to keep myself calm through this. I would love to be part of a group who is also dealing with this...

It's so nice to hear from all of you. We all have so much in common. I'll try to find the "ladies help" thread. I'm almost 50, and I think I started in perimenopause around my mid 40's or maybe earlier. I started with major panic attacks at 46. Stress has greatly contributed to my issues at that time. Let's hope we can get a special place on this forum for us ladies in our situation. Take care to all. Hugs, Hally

Hi, I am in my 40's and wonder if that is contributing also to my anxiety. I also have hashimotos hypothyroidism and know that has an effect with my hormones and panic attacks. Wonder also if there are other people with hypothyroidism and find they have anxiety and also wonder if there are people who have not had their thyroid checked, especially women-it may be contributing to your anxiety and you don't know. Thanks

Hi all, it looks like we have a pretty good group of us already, and I'm sure there are more to come. This is great!!! BTW, I have had every test in the books, thyroid included, and after spending 1 month on an event monitor for the heart, having a VQ lung scan, many EKG's ,an electro cardiogram, a stress test with contrast MRI's, and many blood tests, including all the hormones. All they could tell me was panic anxiety disorder, perimenopause, General anxiety etc. It's good to rule out any extra health problems, but to me it really seems that if I had known I was in perimenopause , I might have been able to guess that things were worse because of that , Oh well, at least I got alot of tests done!!! hugs, Hally
