First thank you all for sharing the GOOD TIMES AND THE BAD. I am now 2 years med free.I have evan lost the weight I gained from it. BUt now I have a new dilima my spouse can't stand me now that I don't break down for evan the smallest thing,I don't yell or scream I am keeping it together, evan when he tries to push every button. then I wonder if he is just testing me to see how far he can go. He cant say anything good to me I am not looking for a handout, just dont talk to me like I am stupid. He makes a point to say and do bad things to me.Am I wrong for wanting out, I am mean he didnt leave me when I needed him, or am I just being ungrateful.WE do have 3 kids but they arent babies now, what if I cause them to get depressed. As he always says I would be under abridge without him, right now that sounds like a great place. Any response is apprecaited.

Gina,

Have you tried counseling with your husband? Would he be willing to go? If not, go without him.

Great that you are medication-free! Many times when we get better, there is resistance from the people who are used to us the way we were. I won't get into the psychology of it because the reasons are different for everyone.

Take Care!

Keep us posted as to how you are doing.

Was it Carolyn or Lucinda that said you are changing the 'song and dance'. There are family dynamics at play with every relationship. YOu have changed what he was used to. He is just trying to get it the way it was. Maybe not intentionally, but subconsciously. CHange is hard for most people. I do agree that he should be nicer. TEll him how you feel and ask him why he feels he needs to put you down or try to make you feel bad. He probably is afraid that you wont need him anymore. Reassure him that you have no intention of going anywhere and you just want to have a good relationship with him, but that its hard when he treats you this way. Remind him you are both on the same side. Supposed to support one another and encourage each other thru life. ANd congratulations on getting over this and feeling better!
