I'm on Lesson 7 now, but how do I know I have made progress. I listen to my lesson tape 3 or more times a week and journal and do the homework everyday. I'm fine at home, when I'm working on the program. Yet, once I get out in the world I don't always remember to use the skills.

The same week I was on anger I had a yelling crying spell in the car, while evacuating from Hurricane Ivan. Actually, today and last night I wasn't o.k. even at home. I had a harrassing phone call and couldn't get my anxiety level down.

The assertive tape actually helped more with my anger. I felt better and was successfully assertive quite a few times. But, sometimes it seems while I concentrate on one tape, I forget the things I should be doing from the other tapes.

I listen to the groups on the tape and wish I had that. So, I decided to try the chat room. But, sometimes people ignored my posts and once someone asked me if I even have the program.

Hi im4evablessed,

Do you use the carry along cards? Those have helped me when I am away from home. I am going to give you some advice that someone else in this program gave me....slow down....not just physically but mentally. Slow your thinking down and you will start to feel the difference. I spend alot longer than 1 week on each lesson just because I can soak the information up better and I don't have the time I'd like to have to spend on the lessons. When I start to feel like I'm slipping or can't remember something that I know I should be doing I go back and listen to whatever lesson I feel will help me. Usually Lesson 2 is a good one to go back to. I do relate to how you feel but again if you can tell your thoughts to quite down or slow down, along with the breathing, it helps alot. Take your time.

Good luck,
