I was more confident than I thought I was! I want to thank everyone who gave me suggestions as to how to cope with such a difficult situation. I realized that if something bothers me enough that I CAN call a meeting and I CAN speak my piece. By the way, I had my boss sit in with me when I spoke with this woman and he totally supported my side of the issue. He even chuckled when I made a point she couldn't deny. I feel sooooo liberated!

I am so happy for you, that is great!! Isn't it the most empowering feeling when we can accomplish something that we thought was so far out of reach? Way to go!!! BTW, did you two reach a resolution to the problem?

I can't really say we reached any kind of resolution. I just feel good that I was able to let her know how I feel. I found out that she disliked me because she thought I was being vindictive with her for giving someone else the work that I had been doing for 4 years. She just assumed that I hated her because I wouldn't give her any eye contact. But I couldn't give her eye contact because she made me feel so bad and so nervous when she came around me. I was not aware that she was treating me this way because of something so petty. I had already turned over that work assignment to another employee the year before so there was nothing to be upset about. She had the nerve to call me unprofessional because of the eye contact issue, but I came back at her with the fact that since she always found the need to embarrass me in front of my co-workers, SHE WAS BEING UNPROFESSIONAL. I know that she has a problem because she avoids my supervisor and doesn't want to give HER any eye contact. I found out my supervisor feels this way. I actually got to see how petty this bully really is because she's got people in other offices talking about how rude she is. She just won't get the point that she doesn't know how to talk to people in a professional way. I learned a lot about her use of scare tactics and that I wasn't going to allow them to work anymore. I told her I was going to continue to document everything she told me for future reference.

way to go NAY, i'm really glad to hear that you went through with it and told her how you felt. I'm sure that it's been a growing process for you and a learning experience for us. What you did just goes to show that you can't really expect them to appriciate what your doing, you just have to say how your feel to get your point across, it doesn't hurt to be a little pro-active, and it sure can get a lot of respect for you from yourself and your coworkers.
