Ok I did it I just finished week 8 of the program and MY BIGGEST avoidance is going to the doctor SO WHEW!!! I called made a appointment for a routine check up I have lost 60bs. and feel great I'm going Oct 18 that was a big step for me and I just hate to go!! I'm using alot of my learned skills its just hard I should say I lost both my parents when I was young and this problem with the DR started more as an adult I'm just looking for some help or advice to get through it.

Well, im not that far into the program yet. But, my advice about going to the doctor is dont dread it, just go. Try not to think about it until then. Unless you are thinking positive thoughts like...at least I will know I am fine or at least I will know what I need to concentrate on as far as getting healthier.

Yahoo! Congratulations. Write a success scenerio about how you want the visit to be. Read it daily and just before you actually leave for your appt.
Good for you!!!! After this one, keep making a doctor appointment with other docs if you can. Really desensitize to this challenge. Remind yourself that, yes, you may have some anxiety with this first visit and that is OK. Welcome it in. It really is OK.
