Hello to all....

Within the last couple months I have developed fun heart flutters, where it feels like my heart skips a beat. It creates an odd breathless pause, and I can feel the next beat very definitively in my chest and throat. Loads of fun.

I went to my GP with it, who gave me a 24-hour heart holter to wear. I followed his instructions, turned it back in, and never heard back. Good thing they're paid so well. So I went to a cardiologist who got access to my holter readings and told me I had an extrasystole - an early heart beat. Totally normal. I am just one of the really lucky ones with anxiety who is so in tune with my body that I feel every single one of them. They come in clusters, generally when I am tired and my defenses are down a little anyway, which is really enjoyable.

On top of this, the docs sent me for an ultrasound of my neck and found a nodule on my thyroid (in the results paperwork they mailed me it was called a "lesion" - this was great for me!) I then went in for a really enjoyable procedure called "Fine Needle Aspiration" for a biopsy. This was created, I think, especially for people with anxiety. That was 10 days ago and I still have no results back from them. I would like to be able to wait to pay them until they give me my results but, alas, no such luck.

So. Anyway. Does anyone have any suggestions or input? I am freaking out a bit here and at a loss. Previously my anxiety revolved around a fear of going nuts, and now it is moving much more towards my health....

I would certainly be calling the doctor for your results. Don't wait for them. Unfortunately a lot of the time the office assistants are in charge of getting these documents to the doctors and the documents get misplace. I know from experience. Remember to be proactive in your healthcare. They are providing you a service for which you pay for. Don't delay. Give your doctor's office a call right now. This will put an end to the anxiety of not knowing. At least you will know and then go from there. Let me know how it goes. Take care.

I am one of the lucky ones that gets to enjoy those to my doc told me the same thing it was fine but they are only doctors and i have anxiety what do they know!!! hahaha they still scare me and can put me in a panic attack in 2 seconds most of my anxiety is about my health so everything makes me crazy hope everything goes well

On July 16 I started having weird feelings in my heart and wound up in teh hospital. The dr said I was having PVCs. Since I have been to two cardiologists who both said they are just PVCs and are not harmful. Well, they have sent me into full blown panic attacks. I am having trouble just leaving the house. Every thing I do now takes every bit of effort I can muster. I am having trouble being positivr about this diagnosis and I have been totally freaking out every day. I'm not sure how to get past it all.

I have had those "flutters all of my life. Of course when you are anxious. i did all of those same tests you did and the cardiologist tole me that they were PVC's. Harmless premature ventricular contractions. They are a nuisance but they don't kill you. Hope this is the same for you. Ask your Dr the next time you see him/her. When i have too many flutters in a row I drink a glass of cold water. When I had the monitor on i had to dial the hospital and the nurse told me to do that and it really helped. Some times I don't have them for months then i have them everyday for 2 weeks! It drives me nuts.
