I am suffering with anxiety attacks and listening to Lucinda is multiplying my problem. She speaks so fast I even have to shut off the tapes and videos, because I get too stressed out. Has anyone else had this problem?

For me the hardest part of the CDs is the group sessions, I find them very hard to follow with many people talking. I find that sometimes listening to only part of the CD then re-listening to that part helps. I don't always listen to the CD at once and I don't always take just one week per CD- it can be overwhelming trying to stay on schedule, so don't! Find a time and a method to listening to the CDs that works for you! The only way you are going to get better is by really understanding the message of each CD so I encourage you to keep at it. Lucinda can talk fast but if you need to only listen to her in incriments so you don't get as stressed. Hope this may work for you and keep us posted!

I do find Lucinda's talking a little fast.
I think that is the way she is geared.
I usually listen to the whole cd in the later quiet hours. Then when I am driving to work or back I get to listen in pieces instead of the whole cd.I believe your anxiety is what is really going on. This will little by little
get easier as you go along. I will be starting
session 10 this weekend. I do go back to other sessions previously listened to.I have many of these issues and have a ways to go with this program. Take it at your pace and dont get discouraged. Take care , Paul

Hi Jan,

I havn't been bothered by Lucinda's talking but at first found as I listened to everyone talking about all the issues they had overcome I would feel extra anxiety and overwhelmd. I feel for me it ws just hearing their stories and seeing myself in so much of the conversation. It passed by session 4. I agree also with the posts about taking your time with the cd's. There is a lot of info to take in
and to fully benefit from it you need to catch it all. I also write notes as I listen the first time, I found it helps me retain more material.
Everyone is different, but just take it slow.

Good Luck on your journey!!

I have found the opposite to be true for me. The relaxation CD with her voice and guiding me through the relaxation is one of the best things about this program for me so far (just in week 2). Also, the "what if" thoughts and "anticipating the negative" commentary have been very helpful for me because I realized that is exactly what I have been doing.

For some reason I find her voice reassuring and knowing she has been there and overcome her anxiety has been helpful for me as well.

At first it did the same to me. I found myself getting kind of wound up. Not the relaxation CD but the session CDs. She does talk fast and gets very excited and animated. Now that I'm calmer it doesn't bother me like it did at first.
