I am on session 2 and I know I have to work on my driving. Today I sat ib the car, started it up and started down my road which in a mile long with no turn arounds untillthe stop at the end. Every thing I was suppose to do as far as breathing and relaxing went right out the window. I turned around and floored it home. I get very dizzy and I think I hyperventalate when I get anxiety. I was proud that I tried it but on the other hand disappointed that I couldn't stay in the here and now moment. I know this will take practice. It is so hard to stay focused. I did use the breathing excersize in the store today and it worked there, I think because I knew my husband was somewhere in yelling distance. How is everyone else doing with driving or major tasks?

Driving and traveling is a big problem for me too. I try to do the breathing excercise and envision myself in my living room...I tell myself that if I was there right this second, I would be OK so I envision being there and it helps. But take baby steps, be proud of yourself for getting into the car, starting it up and backing out of your driveway. Go 1/2 the distance, next time 3/4 of the distance...any effort is better than no effort. I am getting better..I know you will too. The program has helped me and it will you too. One day at a time.

That is great that you tried! Two years ago I went throught a period of 5 months with daily panic attacks and no medication could stop or help. I would feel lightheaded, dizzy as if i were going to pass out. My 16 year old daughter drove me to work during her christmas break. I thought what am i going to do when she starts school? I did kundalini yoga with a breathing technique called breath of fire. The first day my attacks left me and I was able to stop my medication the first day I did the breath of fire. The website for this exercise is YOGIJIM.COM. Before I started this program I would feel a bit anxious when I would drive or some else but now it's all good. I pray and know that all of you will overcome this!
