I got so overzealous that I listened to 9 cd's in two weeks. Now, I have to go back and listen to the one with panic attacks. I wish so bad they would go away. I feel crazy. The relaxation cd makes me feel like i am sufficating when i breath that slowly. I hate the relaxation cd, so i don't listen to it. To me it is so annoying. I really am trying to put effort into this and I don't take any medications. I am not an alcohol drinker either, but have had some wine before bed the last couple of nights and it has really helped. I only drink about half a glass a night but it does help relax me.

Renee,

When your in the moment nothing seems to work, go back start at the begining and slow down your efforts. For the times it seems to be taking too long to work the program come here for help. If you don't like the relax cd then I'm not sure what to say, but how about trying it by listening to it while your doing something simple like at your computer, I do it that way and really only get into the CD at bed time, in fact I usually fall asleep listening to it before it end, I believe it may work subliminally so I listen to it several times a day even if I can't get to a quiet spot.

Your going too fast in the program...I know you want to get better fast but rushing through the program and the relax tape isnt going to make it happen sooner. The program isnt a magic fix....its not like once you finish you are cured. You have to apply the skills that each lesson teaches. The program is a fresh approach to living your life and making changes to live healthy and more effectively with stress.

I would go back to beginning if I were you and take your time. Really soak in the lessons that Lucinda is teaching. These skills are something you will have to do everyday of your life from here on out. If you get off track thats when youll notice that you have what we call "setbacks".

I would try replacing that glass of wine with something less addictive. Try a cup of chamomile tea or warm milk. Try dimming your lights in the house after 7pm, and turn your tvs or radios down low. Setting a scene for calm evenings is key to having them.
Good luck Keep working. Dodger

Thanks so much for the advice. I was driving in my car today listening to CD 2, and I realized I couldn't even remember what the first cd was about. So tonight i am recommiting to the program and will do it week by week like i am suppose to. This is just an awful way to live and I want to be the best mom i can for my two young ones. My 9 year old daughter said to me today, "mom, have i ever had a panic attack." I was like, "oh, no" I HAVE TO GET BETTER! Otherwise, I will be passing this behavior on to my children.
