Hello all,
This is my first post here. I started the program back in August and now I am on the last CD. I am still struggling with my anxiety and its really bothering me. I feel like I should be so much better at this point. I used to be a binge drinker and have been sober for 6 weeks now so I am dealing with my problems with a clear head so thats good. My big thing is people. I and absolutly petrefied that people can not only see that I am anxious but that I am making them anxious as well! When I was really bad, before the program, it got so ridiculuos that I thought that I was making people on TV nervous! LOL! It was pretty much only when it was live TV though...Going through the program has helped me allot and I have been feeling allot better too, but I just seem to keep falling back. I have signed up for the personal coach so I am really looking foward to that. Can anyone else relate to this? Any advise on fears? Thanks All Happy New Year! |

Welcome to the forum. I made several attempts to start program on my own and was unsuccessful. I started the coaching program this time last year. It was the best money I have ever spent. My coach was super. She really helped me to pinpoint what some of my resistant factors where in keeping me from moving forward.
I finished the program last spring. I should have repeated the program again as was rceommended by my coach but I figured I could pick and chose the tapes I needed for review. This past fall I had several stressors in life that resulted in my having a flare-up of my anxiety. I restarted the program back in Nov. and with Christmas approaching I have fallen off the last 2 weeks, although I have been wroking on my breathing. This I finally figured out since restarting the program is a huge factor in recovery. As soon as you start to notcie the negative/panicky/scarey thoughts start your breathing exercises. Just focus all your attention on your breathing and then follow it up with calming self talk. I can't believe how much this has helped me. I wish you much success on your journey and to a New Year filled with peace. Take care and God bless. |

Wow that is great to hear! How much is the coaching? I just signed up yesterday and I have not gotten a reply yet. Probably cause its the weekend. Yeah I feel like I might need to do it again too. I have never been big on doing the breathing although when I did it really helped. I have mainly focused on positive thinking and trying to see the reality rather than my imagined fears. But just being able to talk to someone is really great. I was doing the program by myself and was having to figure all this out alone!

I know that fears can be difficult but just know that it is all in your mind, just keep telling yourself that there is nothing around you that can harm you and that you are in control of your thoughts, you are safe and that you are stronger, I hope that will help. I have them, we all do is just on how you handle them.
