If you're depressed and need a good laugh, I'd recommend BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS by Kurt Vonnegut. That man has a way of taking the most horrible aspects of life and making them seem laughable and ridiculous, and I think that's his best book, at least the funniest. I found it for a quarter at the local library.

Good choice!! That is one of my favorite books!! I love dark humor. A Long Way Down by Nick Hornsby is really good too. It is about suicidal tendencies so I wouldn't recommend it to someone in crisis, but it has a way of making you laugh at the ironies of life.
