Good Afternoon All,
I never used to be someone who liked to read. Since I went thru the program a second time and realize some of the areas I need to improve, I have been reading almost every night. I wanted to know, being there are so many good books out there, how do you make sure you are getting what you need to get out of a book when you are reading it. Do you take notes, write in the margins, ect.. Also, I tend to get anxious because I want to read so many good books but I can only read so fast. Do any of you have that problem? Thanks! |

Remember to take your time and enjoy. Slooooow down. THere is no hurry. When I am reading a book that I know has a lot of info in that I want to refer back to I will sit with a highlighter and just highlight what I like. Don't overwhelm yourself with overload.

I do the same thing, I use a highlighter to "highlight" a good sentence or paragraph. Right now I am reading "Your Best Life Now" by Joel Osteen, there is so many great messages in this book, I am on my second highlighter!! LOL
Carpe Diem! |

I just finished the Joel Osteen book. It was VERY inspiring to me. I wrote copious notes and started a "10 things I'm thankful for today" journal.

I have been frustrated with my reading speed for YEARS!! But I keep trying cuz I love to read. COmprehension is not my strong point either. I recently ordered a speed reading course online. I'm going to try to improve my reading skills.... AGAIN! I also got a memory program too. Trying to remember names better. |
