I bought this huge book by Emrika Padus at a library sale for a dollar, and it was a great deal. It's chock-full of helpful techniques for everything you can think of: relaxation, boredom, shyness, humor, phobias, loneliness, job stress, etc. A word of caution, though: along with the helpful methods are warnings about what stress can do to your health. Personally, I don't appreciate when authors do that, but I try to just focus on the strategies. Also, the book is very easy to read, as big as it is. Little summaries of each group of paragaphs are written in the margins. You can buy it very cheap on Amazon.
