I'd like to recommend the book Curves by Gary Heavin. This book helps one to lose weight and keep it off, but more importantly it gives great information about "why" eating "better" is healthier. And it explains how building muscle will help you to burn unwanted pounds faster, which will in turn help one to keep those unwanted pounds off without having to starve yourself. And it gives great menu plans on how to eat healthier throughout the day. Like for instance I use to eat two pieces of toast every morning and never felt any energy afterwards. Now that I am eating less carbs, one piece of toast and a protein, like a boiled egg or two, or cottage cheese, along with a glass of water with a little lemon and stevia, I start out my days feeling so much better mentally and physically. And this definitely has it's advantage in conquering anxiety and depression. Also I'd like to mention that carbs are important. They help to produce Seritonin in the brain which helps you to feel "good" and "up". Diets that elimate carbs can cause one to feel "down" or depressed. So carbs are important, just not too much.
Any ways, it's a great book, but it is geared towards females, and I highly recommend it to those seeking to live healthier. Smiler

grateful - I joined Curves in February and it was the best investment I ever made! I have never been an exerciser, and they make it so easy to form the exercise habit. You also get to know the other women there and it becomes a social time too.

The book that helped me a lot with the weight issue and healthy eating is Dr. Phil's book "The Ultimate Weight Solution: The 7 Keys to Weight Loss Freedom." The book helped me develop habits that encouraged me to realize that this is about taking care of myself and feeling stronger and healthier. Smiler

Hey,
I used to own a Curves for Women.
I highly recommend if anyone is interested in joining. It's fun, easy, and you get great results. God moved me into a different direction so I ended up selling it.
