The title "Breaking the Grip of Dangerous Emotions" by Janet Maccaro, Ph.D., C.N.C.

You can view and/or order it at:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/088419749...VPDKIKX0DER&st=books

I happened to see Dr. Janet on two shows and heard her speak of her own struggles with anxiety and panic attacks.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that the "Foreword" written in this book was written by Lucinda Bassett, who highly recommended this book.
Dr. Janet also went through the Midwest program and includes some of the Midwest info. Dr. Janet holds a doctorate in nutrition and a degree in natural medicine. What she has to share in this book, I believe, will be enormously helpful to anyone struggling with anxiety/panic attacks and/or depression. While the Midwest program focuses on cognitive behavior therapy which is vital in overcoming anxiety and depressioin, Dr. Janet more so writes about how depression and anxiety affect us physically. How it depletes our bodies of Amino Acids and Magnesium, lowering our immune system which in turn causes greater anxiety and/or depression. So learning how to supplement our diets to build up our bodies and immune system is a very important key in healing.
Dr. Janet is a Christian and includes her walk with the Lord and bible scriptures in her book. I greatly recommend that this not deter anyone from reading this book if they are not Christian. The insight into the symptoms, causes, and help that she has to share is invaluable to anyone.

Thanks for the recommendation, I will check that out! I also have a recommendation for a book called Poe's Heart and the Mountain Climber. It is a book about anxiety, but looks at it from a scientific and very "matter a fact" perspective. I found it extremely enlightening. It is written by an MD so some of it gets a little technical, but it has some good points to make and good tips on how to apply what he is saying. I found my copy on www.amazon.com.
