Hi everyone!

Just wanted to say that I've been working on my exercise phobia, and wanted to give a couple of exercise tape recommendations that I've found really good. Both tapes are about 20 minutes to half-an-hour long, and both are great for beginners or exercise-phobics, since they work you, but not to the point of pain or exhaustion. Anyway, I read somewhere recently that it's been found that moderate exercise (not strenuous) is the best kind of you, so maybe working ourselves to the point of exhaustion and panic isn't a great idea anyway.

Anyway, I would recommend Richard Simmons' "Blast Off" workout (I know that he's an acquired taste, and, in truth, I haven't acquired it yet, but the workout is fun and very motivating) and Leslie Sansone's "Two-Mile Walk." If you are afraid of exercise, I would recommend checking these tapes out, because they will give you aerobic benefit but are low-impact and easy enough to not cause too much stress on your body.

Hi Lori,

I love Richard Simmons. I lost 20 pounds because of that man and personally I think he is wonderful. I do however understand why some people would need to aquire a taste for him. Although you have to admit, he is pretty funny, even when he isn't trying to be.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for the wonderful suggestions. I'm sure a lot of folks will find them very helpful. I also wanted to say I'm glad you found something that is working for you. I know that you have struggled with the excercise issue for a while now and it's nice to know you found something to help you through it.

Good Luck, Mellie

Thanks for the suggestions! I have been dealing with the exercise "thing" for a while. The racing heart doesn't bother me as much as the breathing thing!!! I'm going to try them out cause I really do feel better when I exercise!!!
thanks again.

I'd like to start exercising by walking, but my agoraphobia is making it hard for me to leave the house and take those first steps. Any advice?
