The fact that you felt bad after that Hershey bar means that you are sucessful in weaning excessive sweet and caffeine. We have to condition ourselves to take in the average-Joe-size sugar, fat, caffeine, and other toxics. Since you had been cutting, your body now rejects the "used-to-be-normal" portion. This is a good sign. Good job!

Geoff, I know exactly how you feel! Chocolate makes me so anxious and I'm trying to stop eating it along with sweets all together. After eating sweets I feel so icky, I get headaches, and feel so fatigued. The last couple of weeks have been bad for me with the chocolate....I live 10 miles from Hershey, so in the last couple of weeks we've had company visiting and guess where they want to go?....To Hersheypark and Hershey's Chocolate World!! I've been eating waaayyyyy too much chocolate! I will say that on Mon we went to Hersheypark with my family and I totally stayed away from all sweets! That is a major accomplishment for me! I think that since you have been trying to stay away from it then you ate a whole bar, your body wasn't used to all that sugar and caffeine so it made you really anxious. Maybe if you're craving chocolate, buy some Hershey kisses and just eat 2 of those, just enough to satisfy a craving, but not too much. This is a major downfall of mine, so I'm sorry if I wasn't much help! Dana

Thanks to all of you for your responses. It's nice to know I'm not the only one. It makes sense I'm more sensitive to chocolate since I've been avoiding it. I'll try doing what you suggest, only eat small amounts, like the kisses, instead of consuming a whole bar. Oh, and Dana. You live 10 miles from Hershey? Can you do me a favor and pick up 2 cases of Hershey's dark for me? (Kidding). Hope you're all doing great! - Geoff quote: I yam what I yam, and that's all that I yam. - Popeye

Hot Cocoa (8 oz.) - 6 mg. Chocolate Milk (8 oz.) - 5 mg. Milk Chocolate (1 oz.) - 6 mg. Dark or Semi-Sweet Chocolate (1 oz.) - 20 mg. Now compare that to a cup of coffee that can have about 100 mg. or more, or a weight control pill with a whopping 200 mg. and I guess chocolate doesn't come out looking too terrible. However, I have heard that for people with severe heart palps, even a little is too much. I really think it's the sugar in candy bars and sodas that gives most of us a problem.
