i have been extremely depressed since starting this program just last friday, and I have severe pms many days out of the month , but this is supposed to be my good week!! I was trying to cut down on sugar cause i am a sugaraholic and she said on the jump start tape to cut down. I have been so crabby, edgy, numb and feel depressed and crying. Is this sugar withdrawl?
someone please help lol

I'm sorry you're feeling so lousy. Yes, sounds like sugar withdrawal to me. I had it for about 4-5 days because I went cold turkey and didn't cut back gradually with the sugar or the white stachy carbs. I was a major sugar/carbaholic! I feel sooooo much better now that I've cut those things from my diet, so try to stick it out and you'll feel better soon! Smiler

oh gosh dana! do we have to give up white carbs too, yikes thats what i eat tons of!!! i am gradually going off sugar but i think i am only eating 1/2 of what i did before instead of 10 cookies i have five LOL anyway i am afraid to go off the caffeine cause i tried before and i got severe headaches and i get those anyway and i only drink two sugar caffeine pops a day but i guess even cutting those down makes me have headaches from the caffeine I am a junkfood holic, and i havent even read this chapter yet i am still on tape two.......you went cold turkey? omgosh i could never do that thank you and i am wondering if i will ever get off all this junk , its what keeps me going , but it also makes my weight go up and down righ tnow its up any suggestions on how to get rid of all this stuff? .......thank you

Hi Lori,
You don't have to go off white starchy carbs, but they're just like eating sugary foods, they're awful for our bodies. They give our bodies the same release of insulin that sweets do. I've been avoiding them and I don't miss them or how they made me feel. They're soooo many other things I can eat and feel great while doing it! Smiler

I hear ya on the caffeine....I use to be a caffeine junky and I would drink about a pot of coffee a day and not eat too much. I went off it cold turkey as well about 7 yrs ago and had SEVERE headaches. I would recommend tapering off and mixing in some decaf too. If you have any other ques...feel free to email me!
