I am VERY underweight! 103lbs and 5'8!! I have lost 20 lbs in the last few months,death of a loved one and coming off Ad's! Any advice on how I can do this healthy? I have been trying sweets but I feel terrible,the sugar thing I suppose!!(LOL) Any advice would be so appreciated! Thank you for your time! Kristi

Hi,
Sorry to hear about your recent loss and I too weighed less than I should have. Its just wonderful how people feel its their duty to let you know how skinny you look. Not! Now if we were overweight would they do the same? Hmmm. Anyways, I didn't do anything to gain weight except work on getting over this anxiety and then I started to have an appetite and eat more. So now I'm wondering if I should start cutting back and hit the treadmill more. My pants are getting snug. My husband does bodybuilding and they have to eat to gain weight. Maybe you could check out a book on that and check out the diet portion. He and I use protein drinks. You can get the low carb (sugar control here) kind. I like them. They are good for you too. Don't add sweets. The sugar will just make you feel worse and add to the anxiety and nervousness. I actually added more fats to my diet before because I needed the calories. Healthy fats. Eat nuts if you can. As your anxiety gets better you may find that you will have an appetite again and the food won't go right thru you either. Just take care of you and will get better. Thank you Reena! Thats great advice! I have been bad and have been eating alot of sweets and salt and caffine!! I know these things all have alot of calories and I thought I cpould add some weight if I ate lots! Now I have been eating snacks all day<not as much bad stuff,lots of fresh stuff,And I hope that helps! I worry alot about being so thin and you are soo right when you say everyone has to tell you that you are so skinny! I have to hold myself back when people say that!! lol Thank you again and I will let you know how it all goes!! Kristi

At one time I weighed 106. So I ate ice cream sandwiches. Because we don't need sugar try ice cream subs or sugar free ice cream (not fat free). Include cheese in your diet, and natural smoothies.
There is also ways to dress that will make you look 5 to 10 lbs. heavier. Try different things on at the store until you get it right. Fuller skirts and loose sweaters, layered looks. Many would give anything to have this problem. But I understand it can be just as upsetting to one under weight. ------------------ Victoria |
