I was hoping someone could share an A+ diet to follow because I'm just so confused, and I'm not sure if the diet I'm following is helping, or hurting me.

I cut out all caffeine and junk food. I'm still feeling lethargic and spacey, and I just don't know what to do.

On a typical day:
Breakfast: Pastrami or Turkey Sandwich on Whole Wheat Bread with Mayo and Mustard, bottle of water with a good multi-vitamin.

Lunch/Snacks: LaYogurt, maybe another sandwich (sometimes just the cold cuts), a banana or other fruit, maybe some veggies, bottle of water.

Later Snack: Organic pocket meal with veggies or something similar

Dinner: Fish or Chicken, with pasta, maybe veggies, maybe a fruit, another bottle of water and Omega3-6-9 vitamins.

Am I doing anything wrong? I'm desperate for some energy. I feel so tired and drained... please help

shiska, looks like you are taking in less than 1000calories per day. you are not eating fried fish and chicken? i would add some fresh fruit.i use diet wheat bread. if you are not diabetic you can add lots more fruit. not canned fruit. frozen strawberries are good, blueberries too. don't expect too much. i been eating right for yrs and still have no energy, good luck, anita

Anita,

I never thought about my caloric intake, but I think it's more than 1000 daily. Geez, now I'm not sure...

I try to stay away from fried foods cause I have a fear of high cholesterol and heart disease. Isn't it funny how one person says drink 6-8 glasses of water a day, then someone says don't because it could kill you?

I'm so confused. What is a girl to do?

Thanks for responding

~Shiks

Protein will give you extra energy. Like string cheese, low fat cheese, try some turkey without bread, eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt. Lucinda says carbs are OK if you're going to exercise. If you'll be sitting at a computer eat protein. So try that. If you're lacking energy set the clock for 20 min. for a power nap. Gotta go hubby's home.

Barb,

I thought cheese wasn't good to eat according to the program? Didn't Lucinda say that? I don't really exercise (I know I need to start), but even with power naps and protein, I just feel like I'm still drained, spacey, etc. I do get about 8 hours of rest, and I try taking it easy. Even though I float with the sensations, I can't deny them, I just want them to go away. I take a multi-vitamin with iron... any other suggestions?

Shiksa,

I havn't looked over the meal plan in this program. I do have a little backround in the nutrition area. Make sure that you are eating enough cals if you excerisce you need more. Rember the more muscle mass that you have the more calories you need to eat. Your body is like a car if the car dosn't have gas (food) then it wont move. Make sure that you are eating enough protien such as meat, some beans, peanuts, peanut butter extra. You can basically eat as much fruit and veggies as you want salad is always good just watch the dressing. It is good to eat every 2-4 hours something smaller than a big meal. You might be allergic to something that you are eating there are people allergic to wheat sooo and alternative bread would be EZEKIEL bread it is whole grain taste a little different but it is good. a good test to see if you are allergic to a food is to sit down and relax take your pulse eat the food you feel you might be allergic to and then sit back down and relax after a 5-10 mins check your pulse if your pulse raises more that around seven beats you might want to consider staying away from that food. You can also check again after 20 mins. Just try and make sure that your pulse dosnt increase because anxiety instead of the food. Try to stay away from white food, example white bread cracker rice pasta. If that dosnt work you might be having low blood sugar when you feel like that drink a little bit of good sugar free juice or have some peanut butter.

Cindy,

Do you think the Atkins diet helped with your anxiety? I imagine you feel pretty good having lost so much weight, but do you think the diet actually made you more calm?

my guess is more protien. maybe more water. 8 glasses a day should be fine, and if you live in a hot/humid climate a few glasses more could help--some people drink way more, washing away nutriets, that's when it's a problem. ya may run to bathroom a little until ya get used to more H2O Wink

do you like tuna? almonds? walnuts?

i totally agree with the previous post about fried foods. they weigh me down.

and every so often--mix it up--so ya don't keep fallin' asleep due to dietary boredom Razzer
