I still smoke. I am focusing on one thing at a time and right now it is getting rid of the symptoms, spaciness, shaking, fast heartbeat, instant anger...etc. I figure that when I start physically feeling better and don't feel so stressed maybe I can focus on quitting then. Good luck! Let me know if you find anything that helps. ~Flutterby

Hi Flutterby,
I thought i was alone smoking, its so hard to quit after 20 years of smoking. I think i might do that too,get other things out of the way then work on quitting, cause i think that will be the hardest. Thanks.

Glad that I am not alone in this as well. I was not brave enough to bring this subject up as smoking is such a taboo now days. I know that I need to quit and I have tried many many times...just do not have the will power YET. It is so expensive, stinky, dirty and takes up a lot of time. I know all of this and I know that it is not good for my kids to be around it. I will be working on this as soon as I feel strong enough again. We can all do it. I know that tentativly if I do not try sooner I will be trying on June 9th. Why? Because my husband will actually be trying too at that time. I have the pressure not to ever bring it up or he will not try. So that makes it really hard too. Any how... on to the next posting while sitting here not able to sleep and a smoke in the ashtray ~Flutterby

I'm a smoker, and I had two doctors (my primary care physician and a psychiatrist) who told me flat out NOT to quit smoking until I had the anxiety thing under control. I was feeling so miserable that I wanted to try it anyway thinking it would help my anxiety level. Well, I went on the patch and I had even MORE anxiety at first. It was really tough. I stayed on it for 3 months, never smoked a cigarette, but then at the very end I just got really depressed and cried all the time and felt sorry for myself. I just couldn't deal with those feelings, so I started smoking again. You know what? I feel alot better. I will quit again one day, not on the patch though, I'm going to Zyban next time.
