Can anyone recommend some easy to read Food, Nutrition books? I am not referring to diet books. I am interesting in easy to understand nutritional information.

I like Susan Powter's Food. It is easy and fun to read. However, she is a bit over the top. I would like to study more to verify what I learned so far.

Thanks.

I highly recommend "The Prescription for Nutritional Healing." I purchased mine at Rite Aid Pharmacy for $18. It is chock full of EVERYTHING!! It begins with amino acids, then enzymes and onto the vitamins. The book goes on to cover all ailments ranging from dandruff to cancer. A complete description is listed for each ailment and what supplements are essential, highly recommended or beneficial.

It even has a section on alternative methods such as meditation, hypnotherapy, light therapy, etc.

Very well worth every penny of it.

Thank you, shawn.

Everyone is giving health and nutrition advice. I just feel like I need to educate myself so I wouldn't be easily lured into any fad routine, like I used to.

Andrew Weil, the author of "Eating Well for Optimum Health", states that people are different. Some derive great pleasure in eating; some derive pleasure from other pursues. For those who derive pleasure in eating, any diet plan that diminishes this pleasure is doomed to fail. Then he answers the question why health food is so dull. His theory is that all the health food books, diet plans, etc are authored by the people who don't care much about food.

I am listening to the audio version of this book. I don't think I could read the book even if I really want to get more educated on this subject. Listening, I can handle .

This 3-tape audio book is on sales for $7.99 at my local Border's.

Cool Drop. I'm glad you looked into it. My mother purchased it for me when I was released from the hospital with my little panic disorder. Of course now that I have completed the Attacking Anxiety program I wish the book could lead people more into that realm of healing as far as anxiety and panic is concerned.

I found myself reading the Amino Acids section the other day and found it interesting how some of those aid with the mental health issues.
