Ok I am very out of shape. Not that much overweight 5ft 7 1/2" 146lbs. My problem is I don't have much strength. I weedeated a little last summer and my arms felt like jello for about 45 minutes! I just started doing yoga/palates about a week ago. I have done it about 4 times 15-30 minutes a session. How long before this weak feeling goes away? When will I start feeling strong!
As you can probably tell I am impatient! Not only that I have the scary thought thing going (there's probably something wrong with you thats why you feel weak afterwards). I mean I am not so weak I can't function or anything. I do smoke though.... I know, I know. I plan to quit one of these days. No I really do, I just haven't figured out how yet. Can anyone relate to this? I really want to get into shape. Thanks, Pam |

Pam:
It will probably take 6-8 weeks before you feel a change in strength (that is if you are talking about muscular strength). One thing you may want to do is add a bit of light resistance training 3 days a week. If you don't have resistance bands or weights, you can use bags of rice or beans and unopened jars of food. This will give you the quickest response. I am an exercise physiologist so let me know if you'd like some additional help. |
