I agree with EastCobb. I think balance is the key. I was confused about the OJ thing. When Lucinda said to avoid OJ, I thought what?? I thought OJ was a complex carb. But after you (EastCobb) explained that it is still highly concentrated with sugar it makes a little more sense. I typically don't drink too much juice because since I have cut down on the sweets (which is about the last 15 years), juice gags me. What I do is I buy Juicey Juice (100% juice) for the kids and I pour about a 1/4 cup in a glass and then add flavored (cherry or rasberry), unsweetened (no artificial sweetners either) carbonated water. It tastes just like soda. I love it.
Anyway, I think EastCobb hit the nail on the head and has a good understanding of how the food part works. Gator |

Absolutely! Balance is the key. I don't believe in depriving oneself of anything they enjoy eating, but we all should try to avoid excess of anything. I rarely have anything with caffeine in it. But last night, I stopped at a fast food joint, and ordered a diet coke. Guess what? I had a terrible time getting to sleep. I haven't had much trouble sleeping for a while now. I've known for years that I was sensitive to caffeine. Once, I went for about 4 years without caffeine. What a difference! Now, about the only caffeine I get is the occasional chocolate bar. That I won't give up!
