I would love to hear of some good drinks that would take the place of my daily soft drink intake. I have been on caffine free for some time but when I look for sugar free drinks I keep finding aspartame, do I understand right that we should be avoiding this? I am not real fond of water, and finding all the flavored teas have aspartame also. Thank you for any help in this area

Hey AnnetteW,
I too went off tea, coffee, and sugar altogether. If you don't like the flavored waters, may I suggest fruit drinks. 100% fruit drinks that is. That's what I drink along with milk and water. I feel much better because of this switch.

My best to you.

HI Annette!

I am a heath freak, so I do not consume manufactured fake sugars like Splenda, Sweet and Low, etc, etc. If I am in a pinch, I will use "sugar in the raw" if I have a decaf coffee.

I drink organic green and white teas. These teas do not contain a high amount of caffeine. To sweeten them up, I use organic blue agave nectar (from a cactus) which does not affect blood sugar. I also use organic honey to sweeten things up a bit.

I drink LOTS of water with freshly squeezed lemons.

All fruit smoothies are a hit, and all the sugars are from the fruit, they are natural. I have a Tribest personal blender and put fruit and Almond or Rice milk together, let it blend. THAT is very yummy on a hot day.
