Does anyone know if L-Theanine and Flax Seed Oil can be taken together?
I currently take Flax Seed oil and I've been hearing so many positive things about L-Theanine I would also like to try it.
Although, I wonder if the two can be taken together? If anyone has a personal testomony you can share I would appreciate some advice.

PeeWee,

You can call your local pharmacist or your current family doctor about this one. Wink

Hi PeeWee,
I believe this combination is very safe, but as Sunset mentioned you might call your local pharmacist and ask to be sure.
I've been taking L-Theanine, along with GABA, a good muti-vitamin and a Calcium/Magnesium supplement before bed for many months now and haven't felt better in years. GABA becomes depleted in the brain when prolonged anxiety occurs. Supplementing with GABA and/or L-Theanine, which helps the body produce it's own GABA, helps to reduce the adrenaline release, helping the adrenal glands heal. And this reduces panic attacks, anxiety attacks, along with many other symptoms. But the skills of learning to change the way we think, minimizing our exaggerated thoughts, learning calming, truthful, realistic self talk is vital to ones healing also, along with a good diet and exercise. This combination of living a "healthier life", learning to take better care of myself, is what has helped me to move forward in my own healing.
Hope this helps and wishing you well. Smiler

I've gotten them since starting the program. I get a 2 month supply at a time (autoship)but am billed monthly on my credit card. I think is $29.95 ea. month which is cheaper than what I was getting at the health food store. Sometimes I think they're good but I struggle so much with eating right. I crave sugar and wish there was a way to overcome this. Are you on any vitamins now?

I am using the vitimens also. They are shipped to me just like Barb explained. I really like them, my husband is even taking them as well now. I aslked if he could have them shipped for the same price even though he didn't purchase the program and they said yes. So now we both take them. Now I just need to add the exersice into the equation Smiler
How do you get motivated to do it?? I wish I could.

God Bless,
Ivy

Ivyheart, you look like a person that would be motivated. I have problems with exercise too or consistency. After being sick it's hard to get going again. I go to water aerobics and somehow in the water it seems easier and still a good workout cuz I'm sore. When I do it on a regular basis, it's better. My feet have been cracked real bad tho and I think it's from the chlorine. I bought some stuff today and need to put it on immediately after showering. I'll pray for you with exercise. Please pray for me too and esp. the sugar addiction. The vitamins can only do so much. Lately I've been thinking they don't really help. I believe it's all the sugar and not the vitamins.

I will prayer for you Barb! Thank you for praying for me.
About your cracked feet....I get cracked heals really bad certain times of the year, I was putting lotion on them all the time and nothing helped. Someone told me to buy Diabetic foot balm and wow! Did that help! Just a thought for you in case what you try doesn't get rid of the cracked feet, because I know it can be painful.
About exercising...I just need to get out there and juust do it....I think about it bbbut I don't take the next step.
My sugar this week has been terrible...everyday I have had sweets at work. I have really felt on edge and not that well, I do think the sugar has a lot to do with it. I know how hard it is to say no to yummy stuff....I will keep praying for you!! I hope you are feeling well this week!

God Bless you Barb,
Ivyheart

I'm glad I checked this thread. My feet are doing some better. When I went in the pool (only l day this wk.) I do water aerobics. I made sure i washed the bottoms of my feet good with gel and then bought some aloe. I have been putting lotion on several times a day when I'm home. I didn't see diabetic foot balm but can try that sometime. I soaked them in apple cider vinegar and that seemed to help. Also it cleaned my foot fixer out real well too. cfe was very helpful and also said to try epsom salts with baking soda and another time hydrogen peroxide half that and half water. I was crying much today just pouring my heart to the Lord about sugar. I actually feel like an alcoholic with booze. I can't believe how something that tastes so good can make me so miserable. I'm very weepy, very tired, ache all over my body and my eyes burn. All this from sugar. I've asked the Holy Spirit to give me the desire to quit. Sounds like lichen with the alcohol and he's doing good. What is my problem? Why am I so weak? I did make a healthy supper tonite with no sweets. veggies w/ yogurt dip (usually don't like yogurt).I was wanting gum so bad and had none so I did have 2 cinn. hard candies. When I was in high school every day after school I stopped at the drug store and bought candy. When I didn't like hot lunch I ate ice cream bars. I'm paying for it now. There's a 60 yr old gal, WhenwillIlearn who says she's had the anxiety for 40 yrs. So have I and I'm not far behind her in age. Any suggestions how to give up this addiction? I could clear it out of my house but when I'm working at the bakery putting fresh bakery in all the time, it's so hard. Someone said when you work with it all the time you'd think I'd get sick of it but I don't because there's so many different kinds and I like most of it!! Any advice??/

Hi Barb and Ivyheart:
I hear you.
I have the thing for sweets. And I have type 2 diabetes. My blood sugar count has been high now for 4 or 5 days. And it is definitely my fault. I try to make healthful meals. But 2 hours after I've eaten, I will get the craving and I will eat some candy or if there are pastries here I will eat it. I tell myself I will have a small bite but then I will keep going back for more.
Of course I think it is to make myself feel better.
But I have to quit it. There will be consequences if I don't. I know that.
I hope the program helps me with this.
And also with my procrastination.
Thanks for sharing.

Pee-Wee,
Yes, you can take the two without any worries.
But if you are taking any anti-anxiety meds please talk to your dr. first about taking L-theanine= is also used for insomnia and anxiety. I would recommend you do one or the other. Just please talk with your Dr. L-theanine is also found in green tea. If you are on anti-anxiety medications maybe try Calm-at your local health food store, it is a elemental magnesium you mix with water...I highly recommend it, it really works!!! With no adversse effects, but be advised only take prescribed meds. together and wait several hrs. of taking any vitamins, amino-acids, or herbs. for they can counter - act. Be sure to speak with your Doc.
Good luck to you!
Take Care,
Michelle

Im glad to hear you are taking Flax Oil. Are you taking the capsules or the oil? I recommend the oil and the actual Ground Flax Seeds which you can sprinkle on your food. Hell, you can take both!! I also encourage you to take Flax Oil with Cottage Cheese--It Emulsifies the oil. It contains sulferated proteins that make it easier for your body to metabolize the Flax.
