First I am getting a great deal out of this entire program. But I am stuck on this lesson and especially the bran part. I understand the reasoning behind bran for those of us who have IBS, which I do. But I also have a disease called celiac sprue which means that I can not have anything with wheat, rye, oats or barley. I am biopsy and blood test diagnosed so I know that I have to follow the gluten free diet the rest of my life or risk a higher rate of lymphoma of the stomach. I have tried to increase my veggies this week. I also can't eat any fruits except for applesauce because they give my the IBS symptoms. Any thoughts that anyone could share for those of us how have a problem with the bran?
Because of my problem I have a lot of anxiety about going someplace where there's no bathroom close. Anyone else have this same type of anxiety? ------------------ Lyn R [This message has been edited by LynR (edited 03-20-2002).] |

I have it, I don't even like leaving the house when my IBS is acting up. It makes me anxious.

Reena,
I would have to check to see if it is gluten free. I will try to look it up in some of my lists and see if it is. Thanks for the tip. |

Nichole,
What do you do? Do you just stay at home or do you try to work through the anxiety and go anyway? I guess I haven't been in the program long enough to have all the skills I need to go out. I get really discouraged. ------------------ Lyn R |
