I was just curious if anyone in here has tried the atkins diet and if it gave them more energy?I've been doing it for about a week and I seem to wake up easier in the morning and not ever really get starving hungry or get shakey from being hungry.plus I've lost 5 pounds.....but if your having a hard time and dragging yourself around all day with your eyes half shut I'd suggest trying this!

I Have tried the atkins diet twice. Both times I was on for 7 days and passed out. I'll never do it again. Come to find out no carbs is no good for me. However I know handfuls of people who felt great and lost tons of weight!! Good Luck

Hi, I'm doing Atkins and I feel great! I go to sleep easier and sleep peacefully and wake up feeling refreshed. I'll never again go back to eating lots of refined carbs and sugary things....NO WAY! I'm losing weight and I've been doing induction for about 2-3 mos now and will stay with this way of eating. If you feel good on it, stick with it, it's very healthy.
Isabelle....Atkins isn't a no carb plan.....vegetables are part of his way of eating and they provide the right kind of carbs our bodies need.
Good luck to you, Dana

PA girl, I was actually eating 2 salads and 3 cups of veggies per day. I went to the atkins center in N.Y. They said some peoples bodies refuse the diet. I am now eating according to god'd diet i.e.. if god made it you can eat it. If he didn't you can't. I feel amazing!!! And bonus... the weight is falling off.

I lost 50lbs. using the Atkins plan and then gained it back when I started using food for emotional comfort. I have to tell you I never felt better than when eating the Atkins way. Still I thought I would try something new this time. I just started the FAT FLUSH PLAN - am on day 3 and already feel much better. If this works I think this will be my plan because it fits my eating style better. This is also a low carb. eating plan which I think is really the answer to feeling better.
I follow the Atkin's plan. I have lost 82 pounds in the last year. I tried it years ago and thought I was following the low carb way of eating but I was not. It is really a wonderful way to eat. I can go out anywhere and have great meals. I now do all my own cooking at home and find it a easy and good way to make my meals. Most people that don't like Atkins either don't like anything or really do not know the entire plan. Whatever works for someone is fine. I think the danger is losing and regaining regardless of how you lose it.

I have tried the Atkins diet numerous times over the past four years. It's great, it works while you're on it. The weight comes back FAST when you overeat carbs. A great lesson was the effect sugar/carbs has on my body (emotions, energy, etc.) A small amount was OK, but binges or prolonged consumption dropped me into a negative spiral. Watch your kidneys, your BUN count in the bloodwork shows kidney stress. Drink LOTS of water! Good luck.
