Can you believe I have possibly found a drawback to recovery? Since I have been living my life a lot more peaceful with very little anxiety, I think I may have slowed down my metabolism! I know being anxious all the time revs up your engine and now that I have reduced my stress, I don't think I'm burning as many calories. I used to be able to eat pretty much whatever I wanted without really gaining too much weight. If I did put on a few pounds, I would just watch it for a few weeks and exercise, and it would fall right off...but not lately. Of course, my friend tells me it's because I'm in my forties and that it happens to the best of us, but it kinda stinks. I have been exercising and going to the gym five days a week and I can't seem to lose a thing. Of course, to be honest, I'm still not really watching my diet that closely and my husband says I'm building muscle. Also, it's not like I need to lose a ton of weight (I am 5'8 and I weigh 142lbs), so I know that makes it harder to lose. But...dang it! I want my cake and eat it too! Ha! Ha! Just kidding... Although I guess I did find one little, tiny, draw back to being less anxious, I wouldn't trade my peace for the world! If being less stressed means I have to live with being a little more chubby, so be it! I'll still exercise everyday to make sure I am healthy and fit. Besides, ones real beauty is on the inside anyway... right?

Happy 4th of July!

Peace
K

Cover your ears, gents... Big Grin

For me, when I was at my most anxious my periods stopped. As the anxiety began to fade, and they came back, I was like... Aww, maaaaan.... Wink

lol!

I know what you mean about being harder to lose weight. I used to get so nervous that I could not eat for days or weeks. The pounds dropped off with ease. My girlfriend said she would love to have that problem. It seems like a poor substitute and even a cop out for self discipline. Now I have to maintain my weight the good old fashion hard way... eating healthy and exercising. I get a mental workout too trying to be disciplined.

So much for easy auto weight solution...

Heck! I never stopped having periods! Now that would have been cool! lol

Yea,Baked... my girlfriend used to say the same thing to me about wishing she had anxiety so she could be skinny (if they only knew, ha!). I guess if we want to be part of the "normal" family, we have to be like everyone else and work for our figure...dang it! lol

Peace,
K

Any ideas from anyone about herbs, vitamins and foods that have helped reduce your anxious feelings? I drink alot more herbal, decaf tea and water and that seems to help. Also going for walks with my husband has been helpful and stress reducing.
