As some of you know, I was diagnoised with Sarcoidosis and needed to start 40mg of Prednisone daily.
I was concerned with the weight gain, diabeties and hypertension associated with this med. I wanted to ensure I was protecting my health. I have been doing a diabetic diet...added LOTS of fruits and vegies into my diet, eat pretty much soy meat, no white potatoes and limit starches to a bare minimum...I have lost 8 lbs in 1 month! I guess 1-2 lbs a week is safe and have been told you are more likely to keep the weight off. Check with your doctor and see if you can implement a low glycemic index (diabetic) diet into your lifestyle. Good luck! Way to go Liz! Yes, one to two pounds a week is what is recommended for healthy weight loss. Sounds like your body is saying "Thank You" for feeding me healthy
