I have posted message about my anxiety in public speaking before. I started the program 1 month ago. The 6 steps to calm myself down and the positive self talk helped me a lot at the beginning. I continue the lesson. I took a part time job 2 weeks ago teaching computer. I have very scary feeling of talking to the air. I didn't feel anxious at all because I felt that I was not there. The technique I learnt in lesson 2 and lesson 3 cannot relieve me from this kind of feeling.
I finished the part time teaching last week. However, since then, the scary feeling of talking to the air and I was not present follows me. I may be feeling well at some time. However, once I have a self talk of "what if the scary unsure feeling comes again?" The scary feeling would come back and any technique I learnt in the previous lesson couldn't help me. This really affects my recovery. I am now in lesson 5. I know that there are some related topic in later chapters. Could you advise me if I should jump ahead to those lesson now in order to solve this immediate problem? If so, which lesson should I jump to? |
