Hi lkmlee, I take it and it has benefitted me a great deal along with the cognitive behavioral therapy as taught in the Midwest program. I especially like the herbal supplement L-Theanine which helps your body produce its own GABA naturally, which helps to stop the adrenaline release, and it quickly produces a calmer body and mind. I take it daily. A few of us have done a book review in the Lesson 14 folder of this forum on book titled Breaking the Grip of Dangerous Emotions. This book goes into detail how GABA and other supplements can aid in recovery of anxiety disorder. I'd encourage you to read the book which can be found at www.amazon.com or your local library. I know it will benefit you also.
Thanks.. that is actually where I read it! I read the book, and her other book also. I am afraid to try it. I am on 5 mg. of Celexa, I know it says not to take it with the Benzos, which Im not on, but how much do you take of the GABA? And in what form, brand? thanks!

Thank you Grateful, I actually stumbled on that site, I will go back to it and look at it further. I take alot of supplements, Mulit, extra C, extra E, Lecithin, GLA Complex and a B Complex. I occasionally take a Calcium/Mag. but it makes me very hot and flushed... Have you ever experinced that? I was seeing a Naturapath at one time, but she wanted me to take alot of herbs, I am sensitive to some. I looked up the GABA in a book I have, it wasn't rated that good, but I know that Dr. Janet swears by it. I guess all I can do is try it!!! I have also read a book called the Anxiety Cure, by Archibald Hart, who is a Christian also. You sound like you are doing really well, where are you in the program, I am on Lesson 4. It seems to be helping a bit, I experience that feeling of unreality, and that is the hardest to get past... AGH! I have gone back to working out, and that has relaxed me some..
