What is life if not a decaf 4 Splenda mocha latte?![]() |
I can tell if I have any refined sugar, in other words any sugar that does not naturally occur in the food I eat. I am highly sensitive to suagr though. I know that eating a piece of cake or a donut, etc. affects most of the people I know here. Most of us use Splenda for an artificial sweetener, it is great, but a lot of people don't like the artificial stuff so they use Stevia which you can get at any health food store and Trader Joe's if you have one.
Are you off caffeine yet? That is the big monster that you have to avoid. There is no specific diet, you just have to eat well balanced meals. My favorite site is http://www.diabetes.org. It has the greatest nutrition information and recipes for a balanced diet. Love and Light Rene' |

This post is old, but I thought I would respond anyway.
Personally, sugar affects me a great deal. I was out at my cabin for a week and didn't watch all the usual camping sweets and snacks i was eating and lets just say I was a wreck. It is so addicting but I know I should not really eat it at all. Some people are actually allergic to sugar and just don't know it. Once I did a candida yeast cleanse which included a very strict diet which you could not consume ANY sugar, white flour, ect. I did it for a month, lost weight and I can't even explain how amazing I felt without the affects of sugar. The first two weeks were difficult, I would even dream about eating candy haha. And it's true about caffeine, in any form. Simply, just avoid it all together. Like rene said, there is no specific diet. There are suggestions in the workbook. Try to just eat whole foods, stay away from processed products, snack/junk food. Try not to eat out very often. Fruit is really good for those sugar cravings. You just need to find healthy alternatives for the sugary things you want to eat. It takes time to get into a healthy way of eating, but it will be worth it. Hope that is helpful. Layne. |
