Having a hard time figuring out food I could, and should eat. Everything seems to help with losing weight. But I need to gain weight.

Seems like everything has sugar. And I am a male who weighs 105 lbs. I need weight in a major way. If I cut out the donuts, cookies, and things with sugar, then I will lose weight. Any ideas what kinda food without sugar would at best keep what weight I have on? At the same time help to reduce anxiety, and depression ???

protein with natural carbohydrates are the best ways to keep up with your weight. If you eat a well balanced diet with lots of protein and good fats, your body will stable itself out. Try to drink ensure or some other type of calorie rich but vitamin and mineral loaded drink. I had a problem with losing weight at the beginning of the program and I went to GNC and bought protein powder and I put it in my drinks throughout the day. Cutting out sugar isn't what will make you thin. Calories are what you need to maintain and gain weight. Good luck. And you will feel so much better once the sugar is totally gone. I feel so much better. It was hard but well worth it.

Whatever is not on the Atkins diet seems like a good idea, lol. Like pasta, bread, potatoes and other starchy veggies ... Personally, I never cut out the sugar altogether. I still eat a donut or other sweets occasionally, just not with a cup of coffee for breakfast anymore. It's a treat I give myself but only after a good meal, not instead of one. Ensure is always a good idea too. I'm in the same place you are. I weigh even less than you but being a girl, it's not so bad. I put on weight after going to a dietician and following her recommended diet. It's just too hard to do all the time. You really have to eat like a pig and you're either eating or cooking or planning your next meal all the time. There's wasn't time for much else. There was 5 full meal and snacks planned for each day. Most of us don't have time to squeeze in the original three! Smiler

Begin to us more butters (on potatoes and veggies, and all else inbetween){dowse them} and creams like "half n half" in your coffee or teas.
You need high fat foods and adding such will add the fat you need in the food and on the body.

Gaining weight can seem somewhat complicated and sometimes hard to do.Wedo not all react the same way to certain types of food ,some people are sensitive to sugars as others are not ,having a good appettite for starters is very important ( periactin) over the counter medication can increase your appetite leading to weight gain, refined sugars would do the trick but they are stimulants ,stay away from coffee this to is a stimulant a fat burner ,when we are in a aggitated state or excited we create addrenalin which in turn attacks fat cells ,so if you want to gain stay away from all stimulants, carbs are the best bet the slow release ones ,and any vegtable high up there in the glycemic index would be good as with the fruits ,you must take on more calories then you burn to gain essentiel fats play and important role with there caloric content being so high stay with the eff as in cold pressed virgin olive oil ,flaxseed oil ,stay away from all the processed fats, good luck raise your carbs should work and stay away from the stimulants

I gain and maintain my weight by drinking ensure plus. I eat healthy but don't get enough calories. I drink at least 2 a day. They have 350 calories and yes, some sugar, it's okay, Your body needs sugar. The chocolate flavor is the best.
