I saw this magazine in the store like 2 weeks ago, on the cover it was talking about these herbs you can take to make you feel better. And no they weren't talking about herb as in marijuana hehe. But anyways, I didn't read into it, I just saw the cover. I was wondering if anyone knew any supplements you can take to help with this condition. I got this thing in the mail from the Midwest Center about 6 months ago. It talks about this other program Lucinda made called "Breakfree" or something like that. It talkes about foods you can eat to help with anxiety and depression. I was wondering if any of you have that program because I'd like to know what it's like and to see if you can tell me what they recommend.

Dear Yak,

I do not have the program that you are talking about but I have heard that Valerian Root really helps with anxiety supposedly working like Valium but non-addicting, of course. I did try that for a while when my anxiety was leading into panic and before I saw any doctor or was prescribed any meds. Anyway, I had to stop the Valerian because it made me break out in a rash. It certainly would be worth a try for one that does not have an allergic reaction to it. I've heard good things about it.

Also, St. John's Wort is supposed to help with depression working like an MAO inhibitor but less harshly.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info Marty. I used to take St John's Wort and it seemed to help with depression. Depression is my main concern right now. I have my anxiety under control pretty much, it's just the depression that gets to me now. I was on Paxil for a while and it worked extremely well for me. I stopped the St. Johns Wort right before the Paxil beacause my doctor told me that I shouldn't mix the 2 of them. I recently came off the Paxil and the obsessive thoughts and depression seemed to get to me again. That's why I just went back on it yesterday. Anyways thanks for the advice.
