I don't know about anyone else but I have such a hard time losing weight anymore. I really want to start watching what I eat more and cutting down on the sugar and fried foods - but for some reason, I can't seem to do it - I especially love chocolate and candy, etc - I love the taste and I've also gotten into the habit of eating fast food because I don't have time anymore...Just wanted to hear other people's struggles and maybe some people who have been able to find a way to overcome it and how you did it.

Yes, I struggle on a daily basis and to top it off have my kids in this set as well. I started off slowly. We are only doing fast food once a week. It saves in the pocket book as well. I am also cutting down with the caffeine one cup at a time. With the treats I am trying to do once a week as well. Its very hard but one day at a time and do it slowly.

I'm on the "ADD" (Anxiety Disorder Diet) and I've lost 35 pounds just like THAT! This is how it works in three easy steps:

1. You have crippling panic attacks every day along with generalized anxiety 24 hours a day. You can ADD (get it?) depression to the mix to accelerate your weight loss, but that's optional.

2. You lose your appetite. Everything makes you nauseous, and you have diarrhea so anything you do eat flies right out of you before it's had a chance to get absorbed into your system.

3. You worry about your sudden and rapid weight loss, so you get more anxious which makes you more nauseous which makes you eat even less, and voila!... you lose even more weight!

On the ADD diet you SUBTRACT pounds quickly and without having to count calories, grams of fat, sugar, etc. It really is the miracle diet!

(Now if only I could market this and sell it through a late night infomercial)

yes i know how that feels. I have bipolar and when i feel i have lost to much weight i eat till i feel better never really feeling any better until i put in the relaxation tapes. Then, POOF its gone and i feel better. I have a feel better smoothie.
How do you make a feel better smoothie:
Add a bit of sunshine
a pinch of relaxation tapes
a hand full of little cards
a banana
a peach
a little milk
and a little ice blend it up nice. Pour it into a travel mug and hit the road.

i feel so much better since i have cut out all the stimulants and i have noticed i have patience with things. I still let myself slip up sometimes. But i sure can tell when i do. My behaviour is a lot worse when i do.

Yes! I knew if I read the posts long enough someone would know about the diet I was on. I know I lost lots of weight on this diet. If I do eat and stop to think--wow I am eating and not sick to my stomach. Then I stop eating because I feel full, then I start to feel nausea coming. Then I am done with eating. The next step I wonder WHY am I losing weight. Instead of reminding myself that I dont eat and that is why I lose weight. Sometimes I am convinced that I am crazy!

It seems I am on a different diet then everyone else Smiler - I seem to be putting it on - probably because I use food to make me feel better when I am stressed, or bored, or sad, etc....I am also way too hard on myself - expect myself to be perfect, especially my looks...so then it backfires, I eat too much - and I eat all the wrong things...plus I LOVE the taste

I don't normally get Nauseous or Diarrhea

Hi, Gayle! I too, was gaining weight when I was trying to lose it. So, after reading a whole bunch of health/diet books and still not going anywhere but up, I asked my doctor what to do. He told me that in addition to what I was already doing (adding more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fiber, cutting down on sugar, fried foods and red meat), he said that I needed to count calories. The way to figure out the number of calories to have is to take your desired weight and multiply it by 11. This would be the maximum number of calories per day. I have been doing all of this, plus keeping a food diary, walking 5-10 miles per day and throwing in a little relaxation time each day. As of April 12, 2007, I weighed 162.0 pounds. I am now down to 142.0 pounds. Quite pleased with myself! My goal was to get down to 146.0 pounds.

Hope this helps somebody. Take care.
