hi ITS SARALVSBRDS ,,,,I GOT OFF CAFFEINE i cant believe that i did it i was addicted totally to POP i had two sugar mountain dews or pepsis a day, i also had several handfuls of peanut butter m and ms. I have been addicted to pop for about 19 years and could never give it up even when i dieted. But i finally did it, It took me around 6 week to get off the pops. I didnt buy anymore peanut butter m and ms when i first got the program and i had been eating them regularly for 2 years. Anyway i see a huge difference in my anxiousness and crabbyness. I still have a long way to go because i still am a sugar addict i like sweets and like sugar on my stuff. But at least i tackled the caffeine and saw what it was doing to me. I had my last sip of pepsi two days ago I was a real crab yesterday, but i switched to water and i bought dietrite whitegrape, and rasberry pop. it has splenda in it so it will be ok i think
just wanted to let you guys know if i could get off my sugar and caffeine pops so can you!!!!!

WOOHOO!!!! That's fantastic!! Don't you feel GREAT??? That is so wonderful! If you can kick pop the sugar will be a snap. I just quit coffee about two weeks ago and I couldn't believe the difference in how I felt (and still feel!). We are so great, aren't we? Smiler

Hi,
That is great. Caffeine is hard to get off of.
I have in the past and was doing fine. I had one cola the other day and now I have to get off of it.It is so addicting.
My advice- stay off of it for good.
Again, that is wonderful. Send some will power to me.:-)

Hi Lori..I love your scareen name Lorisnewlife ...thats awesome!
I just wanted to tell you thatI drank caffiene for many years and finally came off of it, I did it by drinking sprite instead because its caffeine free. So I drink sprite so I dont have to give up pop completely, It took some getting used to cause Im not big on sprite but its actually grown on me. I wanted to tell you I went six months or so with no Dr.Peper or Cokes other then Sprite and broke down and had a Coke, just one, at like 10 pm at night and was wired until 3 am. I know this may souund weird because me personally didnt notice a big difference when I stoped drinking them but when I had one after not having one for so long, it made me feel so anxious. So try to stick with it ..it really does help Big Grin

Karson i was wondering if you had cut down on sugar yet with the program? I am trying to cut down on sugar and its hard cause i love it so much. i am wondering what kind of difference it will be if i get off sugar. i had no idea the little caffeine that i had affected me the way it did until i got off it.

i quit sugar, caffeine and cigarettes two weeks ago and boy do i feel a difference! a lot of my mood swings have leveled out. i have much less anxiety that just seems to come from no where.
by the way .... i made a bet with someone who said i couldn't do it. everytime i wanted a cigarette, i thought "i'm not taking him to dinner!"
crazy thing to me ... the sugar is the hardest to leave alone. if i can't smoke and i can't have my coffee, then by george, i want my caffeine!

Have any of you tried the Atkins Diet?? My blood sugar and cholestrol were extremely high. I've been trying to stay on the diet. It seems to help balance blood sugar, which, in my case, helps with anxiety and mood swings.

Congrats on getting off of caffiene. I was a addict as well - at least 2 cups of coffee to function in the AM plus coke for lunch. It took me about 6 weeks to completely get off and what a difference! Now, sugar is my next thing to tackle. Too bad I love candy!

Lori, I was reading this thread and your other thread about your hard time getting off sugar.

Sugar has been the hardest for me too...because I don't crave caffeine like I crave sugar or something sweet.

I found what helps me is sweet treats like sugar free pudding or even a sugar free drink like crystal light or such.

I admit I still have about 2 deserts a week and I soooo enjoy them! I try to get them when we're out to dinner so I don't have anything around the house. My husband and I also split the desert so I am eating 1/2 of what I'd normally have.

Oh, and congrats on getting off caffeine! The hardest part about that for me is when we go out (which we do several times a week) and there is so little to drink on a menu that has no caffeine AND no sugar! So while my husband drinks his diet pepsi I order myself a mineral water so I can feel special!

My diet is 180 degrees from where it was before and I feel great. It isn't easy but it is worth it.
