Hi Everyone,
I really need someone to work with me through email about motivating each other to exercise and take care of ourselves. I want to get in good shape and I know it helps with anxiety. We can be there for each other and support one another when stressed and the cravings get too much. Anyone ready?

Thanks,
Dana

I'm up for it Dana. About five months ago I began working out a few times a week - maybe Tuesday and Thursday on my lunchhours and then I would walk on Wednesday. I lost eleven pounds and was really feeling great. Then I went through the loss of my dog and I stopped my lunchhour workouts. It has been one month since I've been to the gym or walked. I've put about four pounds back on but overall I am still in better shape than I was way back then. What I am noticing now is that after I eat dinner and fuss with my other two dogs I could almost fall right asleep if I were to take my contacts out - YAWN!! When I was working out I had a ton of energy in the evening - without the workouts I am a slug.

I would like to join if there is room for one more Big Grin .

I could use a buddy (or buddies) to keep me motivated and eating right.

How are we going to do it? I can set up an egroup for this virtual workout buddy group. egroup is a free service offered by Yahoo!. It is similar to this forum.

Yes girls, lets get started and keep each other motivated! Big Grin
Shawn, I know what you mean, it's been about a month for me, too and I really need to get back into the swing of it again and it makes me feel great and helps so much with energy and anxiety!

Drop,
That sounds great, if you know how to set it up, it would be easier to do than by email, wouldn't it? Let me know, ok!

I started on Monday doing my toning tape...Denise Autin, love her videos!

Thanks for all your replies, it's alot easier to stick with things when you have the support of great friends! Wink

Hi Dana,

It really is up to you gals and guys. How about this: go to egroup and under Editor's Picks on the right, select lowfatgoodcooking. Take a look at the different features (chat, calendar, etc are open to group members). If we find it too tiresome for what we are trying to accomplish, then we don't use it.

BTW, the lowfatgoodcooking is an open group. I would strongly recommend a close group, meaning per invitation only and the public cannot read our messages. I used it in the past for study group, coordinating reunions, and non-profit works.

It really is no big deal. If emailing is the way everyone prefers, it is perfectly fine with me. The most important thing is to support each other to eat well and exercise. Sigh, I am eating a bagel with blueberry cream cheese as I type this. I need help!

Drop,
That sounds good to me. The close group would be better, too I think so it's limited to all of us who are doing this together.
Is everyone ok with doing it this way? Reply and if we all want to do it like that, then Drop can set it up. If it gets to be to tiresome like Drop said, then we can email. Let's get started! I did my workout this morning, gosh I feel so energized!

drop messed up her account. So now drop is drop2, oh well.

Anyone who is interested in joining our workout buddies group, email me at dropaad@yahoo.com.

You can read and send all the messages from your email software if you like. Or if you have a Yahoo! account, you can go on Workout Buddies site to use all the features. You can send me email at dropaad@yahoo.com directly to join the group instead of clicking the "Join This Group!". Yahoo! makes it sounds like you have to be a Yahoo! member to use this service. Bad boy.

Look forward in seeing you all.

bijoux, I am all about yoga as well!

drop,
I would definately like to join you guys if you have room for one more. It sounds like really good motivation. I walk almost everyday, but some times it gets boring doing it by myself. This will be like having a friend along.

Great idea Dana, it sounds like it be worthwhile.

Thanks PAgirl for starting this workout group. I had problem exercise regularly and seriously. I would do yoga here and there when I was really stressed. But not on a continous basis.

All the memebers had worked out according to their plans on Day 1. Hope we can keep this up. I really like the accountability.

Laurie I only need your email address to add you to the group. Would you email me at dropaad@yahoo.com, please?

We would love to have more members to share our experience and support. I spilled my gut and confessed all the stupid exercise equipment I brought over the year yesterday Big Grin .
